Placement of Cameras into the Sidney Nest Sept 06
Slide Show   Previous    Next

Inside the nest -- the leathery item was a well dehydrated flounder. A leftover meal that Sid didn't both with. The variety of food brouht in by this pair was extensive, not only icluding many intertidal fishes but every kind of 'road kill' found in the area.

It's most interesting to see up close the nest where so many eaglet mini- dramas took place. How very like us humans they seemed at times. The nest doesn't look exactly like a feather bed for tiny chicks. The Hornby male eagle brought sticks to their nest before they left it, possibly to make it less attractive to other eagles. I wonder if this pair did the same.
