What a wonderful and fascinating experience.!! Thank you Sound Guy. The Hornbey Island eagles are sooo entrenched in my memory.  So very vocal, so very attuned to each other;. It was wonderful to hear.   This is an interesting topic and science. Thank you.

The Sidney eagles were quite different in their 'pitch', and not quite as vocal. Do you think that as they mature together over a longer period of time they too will become more vocal through familiarity with each other's idiosynchrocies,? For instance,'Don't spend so much time on the rock at the beach, when I need to be relieved, and talk to me so I know you are O.K.!' "You take so long sometimes!'   This is how I imagine them conversing to each other, as longtime mates might.

Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but of looking in the same direction...together.

I recall the heart-rending cry of the Hornby male on the loss of the second egg  followed later by his rousing the female from her useless 'incubating. He brought sticks to make the nest useless during their departure. The range of emotion was fascinating and the sounds he made I couldn't recall hearing before. I haven't recalled the Sidney eagle sounds nearly as well, perhaps because there was alway something going on to make me laugh--- or almost cry. Those two eaglets were so fascinating in their very recognisable feelings that all species might share. Thanks for this opportunity to consider another aspect of eagle behaviour.
