• Accessible from Vancouver (100 miles) or Seattle (150 miles) on a day’s drive
• Number of Birds: This area features between 50 and 600 Bald Eagles along some 50 miles of the Skagit and Nooksak Rivers.

The Brackendale Winter Bald Eagle Festival runs the month of January with four weekends of guest speakers and volunteers with scopes to point out the birds.

Highlights: Well organized month of tours, spotters, covered viewing areas. Readily accessible 1 hour north of Vancouver BC. Four weekends in January with slide lecturers.

Chilkat Bald Eagle Festival

The Chilkat Bald Eagle Festival runs November 7 - 13, 2005 this year.
Number of Birds: 500–3444
Visible from one location: 50–300
Visible from a rafting trip: 200–1000

Highlights: Very well organized photo workshops, guided eagle viewing, release of rehabilitated eagles, rafting tours, Chilkat Indian dancing and many speakers.

This year will feature:
Al Batt: Humorist and MC.
Glenn Browning: Photographer of the Year 2005 also with Taxidermy seminars
Dave Mossop: Biologist and speaker
Robert Armstrong: Author and photographer speaker
David Hancock: Biologist, author, photogrpaher speaker
Robert Genn: Festival Artist of the Year. speaker, demonstrator.
Mike Jacobson: biologist and speaker
Rick Farnell: Biologist and speaker
Greg Hare: Biologist and speaker
Steve Kroschel: Speaker and wildlife presenter. His Alaska Wildlife Park will be open.
Live Bird presentations by: ANchorage and Junear Raptor Centers
Incredible involvement by local Tlingit and Haines residents.
