Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival Needs New Members

Wildlife News

As a director, along with David Hancock and other directors, of the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival I want to call your attention to the festival website's request for more helpers here:

Please read that first before reading David's response which I'm including here:

Comment:  We certainly need inspiration but we also need committed sloggers.  I can speak from afar but so much of what makes the FVBEF work is the local initiative, people down the street who can make it happen today.  With this in mind I have often wondered why our 'street', which is truly the Harrison River-Fraser Valley, the life blood of the Salmon Stronghold, the basin of the salmon carcasses, the economic heartland that it both nourishes and is dependent upon, is not more involved.

Here I simply wonder why the communities of the valleys, the populations of Chilliwack thru Abbotsford don't generate more individuals to insure that this world class event is not more involved with their community?  So how do we get them more involved?  Can we go through the regional Naturalists?  The mushroom people? The wildflower enthusiasts?  The retired office worker, bookkeeper, store clerk?  We need just a few of your hours per year  to make the world better.  Somehow we have not stated our needs!

Go for it.  Make Jo-Anne and Sharie's phones ring!!

Thanks for your committed and continued efforts.
