Quote by: slygirlI prefer to read posts on a thread in descending order (newest first)...I changed it to that in my settings, but it doesn't seem to be accepting. Did I miss something? I'll go look again, maybe I didn't hit "Apply" or something....
I think that the option to read in descending order is for comments posted to a story in Wildlife News or other places like that, and I don't see that option for the Forum. I'll add it to the list of what doesn't work.
And if after you've visited for a while you find there are some smileys that really are too much, please let me know. We don't have the ability to put the jumpy ones on page 2 like we could on the old forum - but I'm thinking we could stick some of them in the Media Gallery so those of us who like them can find them and those of us who prefer a more peaceful forum posting experience can have one.

Actually the text is larger than it was when we had the test version. Richard increased it for us.
I'm not sure how Firefox works on a PC but on the Mac version I can Zoom In, Zoom Out, or Zoom Text Only, which won't affect the size of the Smileys.
Do you have that feature ?

With FireFox on a PC, I can go to View: Zoom and put a check by "zoom text only" then either go to View:Zoom and click Zoom In or use CTRL++ (control and the plus key - don't need to shift it on my computer).

I know I'd appreciate it if I had the option to have the forum posts displayed in descending order - tho I think I may be the only one! I went back to my settings, and I do have it marked as 'newest first'.
I wouldn't worry too much about the smilie thing, least not for me. I usually have a couple windows open, and can 'slide them over' out of view...if you know what I mean.
Now...about that 'newbie' thing ... how many post till I move up the ladder

I gave the Newest post first a whirl and it didn't change for me either. It could be a bug in the new forum software. There have been a few fixes happening along the way so we'll put that on a list for Richard.
I think you need 15 posts to move from Newbie to Junior and so on and so on.

I do, Judy (jkr!)...and I did zoom it, however I never noticed the 'Zoom Text Only'! Thanks! It's maxed...and still quite small, if you ask me. Tho larger when reading a post than when typing as now, to a post.
Don't like the color thing either...one has to remember to go back after 'emphasizing' and change it back to default.
Oh well...I assume we'll all adjust!
