Good morning, Smile

Hi Debs, Grin

Yes, kinda does look like they might be nesting elsewhere. From what I understand, that would be a change after more than 20 years here. Looks like they have made a few changes to the nest lately. It's always my concern that this nest does not seem to have any kind of protection from the elements. Wouldn't bother me a bit if they did find a cozier place to nest (would like to still be able to see them too).

Both of them were on the nest for an hour or so. Looks as if they are doing some work - but still looks as if they'd have a long way to go if they planned to have eggs here in the next week or so. I wonder what their other nest looks like at this point. Puzzled

Hi Debs, Judy, Cal, Marywave... goodness you've been busy over here!!Oh My

Here is the latest posting on February 1st by Alan Jenkins on the Sutton Site:

1 February: The eagles have been actively working on the new tree nest about a mile from the tower. But they are also spending time at the tower nest. Only time will tell what their plans are for nesting this year. We do have cameras installed at the tree nest and are working on the rest of the needed infrastructure to stream that video if the birds decide to use that nest.

Hey soph!!wave That's what I read into that message. I'll try to find out more on the chat board from those "in the know"!!!

I can personally testify to the awful weather we had at the end of last week in Oklahoma!! It was freezing rain, not sleet, but the stuff that coats trees and power linesSad

One eagle has returned, but it is just sitting there!... like it maybe can't figure out how to get the one stick out of his wayPuzzled

Just chatted with a friend of Alan's and she said that although the cameras are there, they are not 'ready for viewing'. So let us hope maybe, without disturbing the eagles, they can make it viewer ready, if need be!! (ETA: Apparently they are lacking electricity to the camera feedOh My)

Alan Jenkins keeps reassuring us that these eagles can whip a nest into shape in no time flat, but "time will tell"sigh sign

Hello folks, I followed this nest last year. And from the looks of the nest now, it looks disorganized and much much smaller. Look how much space just the one eagle takes up! I certainly do hope they have their plans made up soon.

It will be fun to watch once they get rolling! Cheers! Smile
