I'm trying to get out of the house to go to the Brentwood and Pat Bay nests, but I'll post a few pics of the Saxe Pt. Park eaglet and Dad, that I took Wed. night. Dad was obviously hot as he sat with his wings spread and he was panting. He was watching all the people walking along the path below and the dogs frolicking in the water. These 3 and the following 3 pics were all taken with my Canon PowerShot at 2.3X digital zoom. It brings the subject much closer than my 300mm lens with no converter, but the quality isn't as good. Here are 3 pics of the eaglet, who was up and down, back and forth from one side of the nest to the other. Dad jumped into the nest for a few seconds and the eaglet squawked at him so he jumped onto his branch again. I have more pics taken with my Canon EOS Rebel and 300mm lens that I will post later. I also have a few small videos that I will post in my album later. Click 2X bigger.

Sitting eagle I went to visit the Saxe Pt. Park eagles tonight and the eaglet has fledgedClapping From the end of the side street I saw Mom on the branch beside the nest and the eaglet on a branch on the opposite side of the nest, jumping and wingercizing. I walked along the beach path towards the rock bluff and was thinking to myself that I was taking a chance walking right under the nest with the eaglet perched above. Not 5 seconds after I passed the nest the eaglet pooped. I had just turned around to take a pic of it in the nest tree and saw (and heard) it splat in the bushes and on the pathOh My That was a close onePhew

The eaglet was very active tonight, jumping from the side branch into the nest and back again. Then it jumped onto a branch in front of the nest, and was wingersizing for a few minutes before it flew to a nearby tree. It peeped and flapped for a long time before Mom joined it in the same tree. It squawked at Mom for a few minutes, flapping like crazy and then flew off around the back of the tree and behind a group of nearby trees where I lost sight of it. I had the video going and tried to get sight of the eaglet again when it flew around the group of trees, over the beach area and through the trees to somewhere on the other side of the park. I forgot that I still had the video running and had to do a lot of cutting at the endRoll eyes The eaglet seems to be flying wellLeft thumb up I walked around the park twice looking for it but couldn't find it:blink: Hopefully it made its way back to the nest after I left:nod:

I was talking with a fellow just before I went up onto the bluff and he was quite interested in learning about the eaglet. He asked me what I meant by fledge, which I explained to him, and then he asked me how I would know if it had fledged. I told him if I see it in another tree I'll know it had fledged because it wouldn't have walked there:lol: He was quite amused:nod: The fellow left and a short while later the eaglet flew to the nearby treeRoll eyes Too bad the fellow didn't stay a bit longerSad I haven't uploaded any photos or videos yet so check back tomorrowsleepyGood night
