Adult calls about 30 seconds ago and juvie calls closer by the nest just now Grin

Was it Skye (2007 season) that actually fledged during Fledgefest Puzzled I think it was as I recall getting a phone call from the nest site (can't remember now who is was from Embarrassed) and I heard lots of excited people saying things like, "Did you see that take-offExclaimation "

Sandra - when 4Voyage was at the meeting spot yesterday, the grass had all been trampled down in from of the fence, and it was marked off with red tape where one could go.

Thanks Velma, and thanks to whomever Wink. It was really, really tall on Friday.

Skipper, yes it was Skye who fledged the day of. I forgot that Skye fledged on the day...July 12th (I think, but could be wrong). The following year (2008) was Sunny, Angel and Freddy and then last year (2009) was Breeze, Hero and Tiny.

Velma, the trees on the right side of the photo are ones that Mom and Pop use for perching.
Thanks for posting the photo Smile.

I have to go now Sad, but will check back in as soon as I get home.

Thanks for the photo, Velma Left thumb up and hagd, Sandra wave

I'll be here for another 15 minutes and then I'm off as well, If I remember from previous years, they left to go for lunch after a couple hours at the nest. Then after lunch, David takes those that want to go on a tour of the local nests and I think some people go back to the Sidney nest Puzzled Grin

Whoa -- loud plane just went over. That and the sound of chirpy birds closeby. No visual (black screen Sad)

wave I can't believe it...I finally found my way here! 4voyage...I loved your travelogue...its a real help to us Midwest bound stick watchers. Can't believe how many of the old names I saw here...Woodlands Blue (charsan and mercer are looking for you) and so many others. Looks like Fledgefest is unfolding as it should with sunny weather...enjoy the talks given everyone! Thanks for the picture updates!

Hi, PeaceInNature wave

Welcome to Fledg-efest Grin

11:25 a.m.
I think I hear some Solo screeches in the distance but it's difficult to tell between the sound of the planes and the other loudly chirping birds

11:27 a.m.
A couple of adult calls closeby (and I swear that I heard a rooster PuzzledTitter)

Birdsie

I love the photos of the nest site. I like to print them and keep them by my computer.

Then, when something happens or is going on, I can refer to the photo and try to imagine what is going on.

I did that last year with a photo of sassyk's with both nests in the picture--and I refer to it all the time!

12:27 pm
A couple of peep-calls from off the nest

12:29 pm
A couple more calls, off nest

ETA: Hi PeaceInNature! wave Welcome! Great second post! Welcome
