Tanner, definitely there are more photo ops at Saxe Pt. ParkLeft thumb up There should be a lot of good ones in the next few weeks with the eaglet exercising its wings. I usually go up to the top of the rock bluff where you can get a clear view of the nest and the eaglet. Sometimes it is difficult to get a good pic because of the angle of the sun but there are a lot of different vantage points where you can get some good photos. The beach is a good spot if the sun is in the right place and the tide is out. It's fun trying to get a good shot when they are flying back and forth from tree to tree, trying to get away from the crowsRoll eyes I'm lucky if I get 2 good onesGrin

Because the Beacon Hill eagles aren't nesting this year, they hang out at Ogden Pt. a lot, but as you know, there are only so many different shots you can get of them perched on the light standards, or flying offWhistling They do go fishing at low tide at Clover Pt. and that would be a great place to photograph them. If you would like to meet sometime at Saxe Pt. Park, let me know. Perhaps the 3 of us could get together sometime.

Thanks for all the tips, Kay.

I would love to get out there and see the Saxe Point eagles. I love photographing the Beacon Hill eagles, but as you said - there are only so many shots you can get of these guys. When I look through my portfolio, all my images seem to blur into one...Sleepy

I will maybe be out there early next week, possibly Sunday or Monday. It's hard for me to say when I will have the time and I usually just run out on a whim to shoot pictures. I would enjoy meeting up out there as I don't really know my way around the park too well - I don't even know where the nest is. Perhaps we can line something up one day.

I went to Esquimalt this afternoon to see the eagles; I usually stop at the end of the side street first and I saw the eaglet wingersizing and then eating something in the nest. Pa was perched at the top of the nest tree. I took some pics and videos that I will post later. I drove around to the park entrance and discovered multiple police cars and vans at the side entrance as well as at the main entrance. There was police tape across the side entrance and police officers wandering around the trail with bags of what was probably evidence. I turned our local CHEK news on when I got home and saw a segment about a female jogger being assaulted while she was jogging on the trail. The officer said she was injured and is now in the hospital; the attacker is still at largeMad YikesOh My I don't often walk through the trails at that side of the park but now I won'tSad I'll stay on the main trails by the beachNodding
