Update January 30, 2010 9:00 PM CST
\
Another day, another ounce or so gained by the cub—and another 4-8 ounces lost by Lily as she converts fat, water, and other body stores to milk and energy.
Lily’s loyal Facebook fans have noticed the cub’s voice is stronger and deeper than a week ago, and new sounds are coming from the den. The cub has added murmurs and coos to its usual repertoire of crying and humming, and some have speculated that the little one is ‘talking’ to Lily. The loudest cries are still inevitably heard at ‘bath time’—when Lily licks her cub to stimulate urination and defecation. The combination of wet tongue and cold air creates some ear-splitting screams! These screams alert viewers to the potential of a rare ‘cub sighting’. As the days go by, these sightings will become more and more frequent. Lily has strong mothering instincts and moves quickly to comfort and warm the cub after the screaming bouts.
Some viewers have expressed concern for the cub after watching Lily’s whole body shake violently as she scratches herself, but Lily is careful not to hurt her cub. All is well. They are nursing, sleeping, and taking care of business—all as the world looks on.
Meanwhile, we are thankfully hiring people to help ship out the Lily T-shirts!

Eiguoc..............
try again...
. I rearranged the post so the URL is all on one line. however the archives are still in the same place...click on the icon, below the bearcam image, that is far right. description is on the post on which I posted this information on previous page.
someone posted a cub siting yesterday which I did see, but it truly was about 2 seconds of squirmy grey critter!!! bear got it tucked inside very quickly!!!! no doubt as the weeks progress that the wee one grows hair, and is able to regulate temperature, we will have more peeks at it!! what fun is this!!!
