Here are the final few pics of the Saxe Pt. eagles, that I took on Tues. morning. The 1st one is Dad hiding in the tree 10 ft. away from me, trying to get away from the dive-bombing crows; the 2nd one is Mom perched by the nest, taken from the path leading to the rock bluff; the 3rd pic is Dad perched in a tree on the other side of the park, hiding from the crows. Kay, maybe he landed so nearby as he feels comfortable in your presence - as if he is used to you being around. Almost like you spend a lot of time around the nest !!

I am seeing a lot of great photography from the Saxe Point nest - would you all recommend Saxe Point over Beacon Hill for photographic opportunity? There certainly seems to be plenty of nice photo ops. Thanks again for sharing.

Yes, I did get pictures of the nest yesterday but I did not see the baby however much I tried. I took a lot of pictures, but, as you know, they don't all turn out as good as we want them to be. There were a lot of people and cars at Saxe Point because there was an aircraft carrier out in the Strait getting ready for the big navy weekend.

Karen, I'm suspecting that the eaglet in the Saxe Pt. nest isn't as old as Solo, so perhaps it still sleeps a lot:dunno: I hope to get over there this afternoon or tomorrow to see the aircraft carrier and some of the ships. I hope the fireworks tonight don't scare the eagles; also the Snowbirds flying over will make a lot of noise

Tanner, definitely there are more photo ops at Saxe Pt. Park There should be a lot of good ones in the next few weeks with the eaglet exercising its wings. I usually go up to the top of the rock bluff where you can get a clear view of the nest and the eaglet. Sometimes it is difficult to get a good pic because of the angle of the sun but there are a lot of different vantage points where you can get some good photos. The beach is a good spot if the sun is in the right place and the tide is out. It's fun trying to get a good shot when they are flying back and forth from tree to tree, trying to get away from the crows I'm lucky if I get 2 good ones

Because the Beacon Hill eagles aren't nesting this year, they hang out at Ogden Pt. a lot, but as you know, there are only so many different shots you can get of them perched on the light standards, or flying off They do go fishing at low tide at Clover Pt. and that would be a great place to photograph them. If you would like to meet sometime at Saxe Pt. Park, let me know. Perhaps the 3 of us could get together sometime.

I was at my firend's house last night - she lives on the waterfront across from Saxe Point - to watch the fireworks and the goings on with the ships.

Kay - there was trafic jam in Esquimalt last night and it may be worse today with the Navy and Buckaneer Day's parade this morning - It would be great to meet at Saxe Point, but I will be in Europe from June 20 to July 20
