5:10 both eaglets are up and perching on the fence.
5:36 to 6:00 Banner is standing in front of the cam and quizically looking things over from overhead to down below. KC is wing stretching from 11 to 3 over and over.....high hops and short flights.....take offs and landings......then Banner flies from 6 to 12 and then to 3 and KC is off the nest at 3. Banner is either on the fence at 3 or off the nest.

No early morning parent visit. The lets are dry and active....

KC is 11 weeks today and Banner tomorrow. I can not say they have officially fledged but they have branched. I suspect KC is out of the nest tree and venturing further away. Banner has been in and out of the nest today. The nest looked like this most of the day.Click on image to download

so we have entered the part of watching where we are delighted to catch any one home at FSV.

It has been a wonderful learning experience and it is Smile and Cry but may these eagles be blessed to live long lives and I am so happy to have seen 2 more eagles mature and fly in the Colorado skies.......

I will keep watching for awhile, but I do not expect to see as much of these two after today......Wub

Donna wave great observations, scaps today; Thank You Do not be surprised if our two fledged juvies do not pop in now and then for a free meal Titter and to kick back and relax. We have seen this behavior after fledging at several nests...so talons crossed we get to enjoy KC and Banner for a spell yet.

60's overnight and into the mid 90's today. then it cools off to 70's

5:05 to 5:19 Both KC and Banner in the nest and resting.
5:19 One eaglet is up and the other remains down.
5:27 Both are at 12/1

They are doing take offs and landings from one side of nest to the other. Then there are high hops.....and off KC goes at 3
5:42 Banner is at 12, big wings to 6 and then off the nest from 8.

I will be in and out to see if I catch a food drop or a parent visit.

I only saw the overtime of the last game of the Stanley Cup but that was pretty exciting......some high flying times in all of that series. Those young players sure handle themselves professionally. Love hockey too.

Banner has briefly visited the nest several times this sunny hot day.

On June 3, 2010 Woodlands Bleu wrote this poem for this nest.

Through wind, rain, sleet and snow, the eagles persevered.
They triumphed over blizzards and wind storms fearsome.
They sat and sat to wait for the event which would complete their year
in a picture perfect setting-skies of Colorado clear.

When the shells were broken and the eaglets jumped out,
the followers cried out with joy, for the promise was fulfilled
that started so long ago, in the snow all alone
and now they had the pleasures that they could view, with you.

When little they were fur balls, so precious in our sight
and fed by Ma and Pa patiently despite the continued
rain and sleet and snow, long after is should not show
so far below the deep Bleu skies of Colorado.

They followed patiently, every day a joy for
the nest was a vision, like a watercolor composed by a master.
And yes, it was a master that composed this blessed place,
one not see by the eagles, invisible to their race.

They found the needed sustenance, for their little eaglets two
so they grew into true fantastic eaglets huge,
with wings outstretched to the heavens, and thoughts of
flying into the freedom of their future unseen.

KC and Banner are triumphant today and will shortly
most likely, be going away.
But not far, just out of our sight, yet we can imagine
the glorious respite, when

They fly off together, or not, to see what they can,
and catch their own food from the wondrous earth,
provided by the unseen hand which leads us on our path,
guiding us smiling because of the chance!

St. Vrains is a vision, a wondrous one too,
like a picture card, a spectacle too,
and yes, we love them both and their parents, too
for all they have given comes back to you, with joy.
