Slygirl - you don't need the sign in box in the ad column - it is top right of every page - under Account Settings!! Grin
Pat

Hi Pat wave I have my favorite pages here bookmarked to my FireFox toolbar, and by using the "sign in box" that I refer to in the ad column, I can click on one of my fav pages, sign in and remain on that same page.

Just a convenience, really. What with how slow my computer, and (for me) this forum, is...it just takes away some of the frustration factor Smile

...And remember when we could just click the "quote" within someone's post and have it magically appear in yours! That would be nice, too!

...while I'm here...seems I've misspoke, or rather not been clear...

The "Quote" feature that I'm referring to in this previous post, is that little 'file folder' that used to be on the same line with the posters name...where you could click and bring a post forward into your post.

Still not sure I'm being real clear! OH...never mind...copy and paste always works Nodding ...together with the *Quote* button above within the post box!

Are you saying that while you're typing a reply, if you realize you want to quote an earlier post, there was a way to do that from the old forum's version of the Post Preview window, slygirl? It is amazing how many features of the old forum I'm learning about when people ask for them here. Titter

I've finished playing with the ad columns - let me know how this works. Chin

I didn't realise that either - I often wondered how some posters got multiple quotes in their posts!! Titter

Hey - I just realised we are back to normal!!!
I'll go and play with MG to see if anything hides the pics!!

All we need now is for the Reply button - and the Preview/submit/cancel buttons to be down on the left - and we are perfect!! Grin

Hi all wave

Don't know where to put this but I figured this thread would have the best chance for the "powers that be" to see it and make a decision.

Very few people are posting in the Sidney threads these days. So I think that the Sidney Observations-No Chat thread should be shut down for the season and observations moved to the Sidney Discussion thread so what little there is is all in one place.

HI Skipper - we were very close to doing that - but we talked it through and decided it was a shame to break up the team - so while there are those willing to do obs - and where they have a clear sighting of what happened - we thought we might as well carry on!!
We are trying to limit the scaps to only those that show what's happening! Grin

It doesn't look as though this rain is going to clear the lens - that stuff must set like cement!! But it gets clearer during the afternoon - the light is just right then!! Grin

The ads just appear on a pic if you find one that comes up huge - screen width!
The funny thing is - the HWF stuff in the right ad column go behind the photo - but the Google ads appear on top!! ?

It's fully possible that I don't know what I'm talking about, Judy Rolling on floor laughing ...it just seems there was an easier way in the old forum to include "Quotes" in a post! Ah Geez!

The right column works like a charm, Judy Thank You and I especially like that the "you know what box" is still there Wink

Have a Superior Day Everyone - and for those of us 'stateside' - Have a Wonderful Memorial Day Weekend...and don't forget to remember ~ it's not just for picnics Left thumb up

edit: after seeing Pat's most recent post Oh My ...I should clarify: The right column works like a charm --- for me!

Pat, can you give me the URL for that pic or some huge pic?

Can you right-click and "open in new window" to get away from the ads?

It is strange - off to see if I can tell why the ads work differently than the other stuff in that column.

Added:
Not seeing any obvious "always on top" language, though it's probably embedded in the javascript. At the moment, I'm thinking it's a tradeoff we'll have to accept unless/until we come up with enough large-scale funding that we can drop the ads.
