Thanks for the link, beans! I've asked David about a name for the eaglet, and he's checking with the folks at Lafarge to see if they'd like to propose a name. I know that a lot of the employees are very interested in the eagles, so it does make sense to see if they'd like to choose a name. Smile

So glad to see that the eaglet is doing well here! Smile

He's such a cutie! (Or she, as the case may be!) Wub

Thanks to those of you who tirelessly watch and record observations here!!

...and I think to myself 'what a wonderful world...'

LIttle Laf'let is alone in the bowl preening his wooly feathers.
The cam shook so it's possible Mom or Dad are on a higher branch.

6:03 am
Adult arrives.

Adult looks about the nest and picks up what looks like a food item (black bird maybe?)
Laf'let is instantly up for a feeding but adult doesn't oblige. Maybe it wasn't food after all.

6:07 am
Adult move to the other side of the nest bowl. Laf'let is following the adults every move.

6:20 am (approx)
Dad came in with what looked like a small fish. Mom immediately took it from him and set it to the side.
She never got up from brooding the chick.
Dad eventually left again.

Parent brooding, it's sunny, breezy.
Can see just a teeny bit of Eaglet under the Parent's breast.

Thanks beans and JudyB....hopefully we'll have a name soon Smile.

Thanks beans for posting a link back to the photos of the area.....there's a lovely little park to sit in while viewing the nest....even some benches to sit on.

7:35am
Parent up, quickly flies off.

7:36am
Parent lands at 7 (back to cam).
Large piece of food came in, Parent moving it and pecking at it....unable to id.
Could be a bird.....ewwww!!!!!! not sure if that's a wing or a fin flapping about or if the parent is causing it to move....could still be alive too , think I'm glad the view on this cam is a little blurry...Nodding

7:40am
Parent feeding Eaglet, unable to see the meal at all now...whew!!!

There's another feeding going on, but this time the leaves are blowing around a bit so it's a case of "now you see her - now you don't" - but it is nice to see the Laf'let so well cared for, even if it's more than a little challenging to get a s'cap of it! Smile

Not a bad view at all!! happy

the adult is mostly in view and a breeze is moving the leaves around gently.

as far as I can tell the chick is under the adult, but there is a lot of grey in the nest so laf'let could be on the adults left side wher I se lots of grey.
