Both adults on the nest. One adult leaves.
Laf'let gets a second feeding from the remaining parent. Where does that chick put all that food ? He's going to burst Laugh

8:30am
Mom in brooding position, Eaglet is visible just to her left, his tiny head resting on the edge of the bowl.

The cam seems to be making odd movements this morning, it's more like a "trembling" than "shaking" Puzzled. It does not appear to be windy, the leaves are not moving.

9:53 Oh my goodness! I haven't checked on the little feller for a few days. I came on line to him alone in the nest. He looks to be preening - though he doesn't have much to preen. But the view was delicious! I could see his little beak. He looks scrawnier now - not a little ball of fluff. His neck is longer, hig beak is longer. His wings (more like arms) stretched out and are clearly longer too. And then he stretched out his little "foot". So cute.

9:57 He scratched his head with his foot and nearly fell over.Rolling on floor laughing Just a perfect view. Actually, his coordination is coming along nicely and he is able to groom underneath as well as along his back.

9:58 Can see the shadow of Mum or Dad in the top of the screen.

9:59 Adult walks into the nest, picks up a long stick and moves it out of the way. then they sit and look at each other.

10:01 Both of them scratching themselves - don't know how the adult scratches its chin without doing damage! Those claws look sharp. The little feller looks quite happy to be "out from under" Mum and enjoying the sunshine.

10:05 Chick stretched out both "wings" and flapped them. Did a face plant into the nest. Titter

10:06 Adult moves in very close - but doesn't take brooding position. Just snuggles up to the chick as if to lend some warmth. Adult grooms the nest a bit. Adult digs a some prey a little. A tiny feather sticks to her beack and the little one is alert and following as if it thinks it's food.

10:11 Chick, still snuggled against the adult's breast for warmth looks up at adult and open and closes beak. Asking for food? But no feeding, just both enjoying the sunshine.

11:40 Came back to see the adult beside the chick again. The chick is quite aware of surroundings. It is playing with nest material, looking around etc.

11:41 Adult back in brooding position.

Another feeding for the chick. The leaves are cooperating, and I have a good view - and can see more dark patches where the second coat of down is coming in.
No clue what's on the menu - or which parent, for that matter - but I have a nice view of the chick and the beak with the food!

The feed from the Lafarge site should be less "jerky" now - there's only one WE process pulling the video now instead of the sometimes 5 or more that were trying to pull a feed (and getting in each others' way, causing the jerkyness)

We're also expecting the new camera to be installed any time now. Will keep you informed.
