2:28 The littles just finished a 20 min feeding. I did not see any aggression and both were fed well.

They have been out in the sun/shade since noon. It is 76* and pretty calm. Parent stands near by.
I was amused at 2:30 after the feeding the parent started to settle over them and they kept wiggling here and there and after 3 tries the adult stepped off again. It also was spending some time digging the nest bowl deeper and bringing extra bedding to the edges of it. Then the littles sunk down and began a nap.

One just can not settle keeps popping up and looking around....

These two are very strong....

The eagles have stayed close to the eaglets all afternoon. They have both been on the nest at the same time for long stretches. The littles have been fed and have been in the sun and shade. From 1:30 to 3:30 they were very active. Here are several afternoon pictures.

It has been windy at the nest. The high temp this afternoon was 79*. It may not have been that warm at the nest. When feeding I have not noticed aggression. The parent feeding usually offers food to one and then the other. Banner usually waits but is well fed. Afternoon feedings lasted longer and they were fed more often than in the morning....

Good morning, Colorado!

7:30 am
Lovely sunrise, and the little ones are now having breakfast.

I'm not sure who's who, but the little one in back is having to stand on its tippy-toes to get its share - and it's working. It looks as if both are being fed. No rivalry visible, though one did position itself for prime food delivery.

Feeding has been going on for six minutes or so (and is continuing). Unfortunately I need to get to work - will check back in a little while.

8:18 am
Another feeding going on - I love this little roly-poly stage. love

8:49 am
Both adults on the nest briefly, doing a bit of housekeeping with the sticks on the side
I'm afraid I didn't notice whether or not there was a switch

11:35 am
I've been away from my desk, but returned a few minutes ago to see the adult in brooding position - with two little heads popped out in front of her, enjoying the sunshine. I think they may still be out, though she's blocking the view so I can't be sure - but it looks as if I see a gray head peek around now and then. love

That is cute - good catch, Mary! Grin

The chicks are dozing in the nest bowl, occasionally looking around. One of the adults (Mom?) is standing on the nest, keeping an eye on the little ones as they enjoy what is supposed to be a warm day in the area. love

3:14 pm
I think there might have been an exchange. The adult on duty let out a call and flew off. The chicks looked around a bit, but didn't get up. A minute or two later an adult arrived, and began feeding. I'm not sure, but I think it might have been Mom taking a break, and Dad arriving to take over - though I'm still not good at telling them apart. They are both being fed - and I'm not actually sure which is which - keep changing my mind. OK - I think the last few bites have been for the little one - and the older one may have gotten a few more bites initially. They are both focused on the food - and know there's plenty for both, so no need to shove. (OK - that's humanizing - but they've been fed enough that they seem content to lie side by side, reaching up occasionally for another bite.). I think one of them has dozed off, and the other is getting full. Feeding has been going on about 10 minutes.

The older one was out of the nest bowl again today, though she(?) didn't go as far. The younger one looked as if he could follow, but he was within range of food so didn't. I have a couple of pics I'll try to add when I get home.

Almost forgot - I think there was another exchange, though again I'm not sure when I don't see them together.

5:07 pm
Both on the the nest, and I think he may have delivered some food.
And she(?) is off

No attempt to feed, though one of the little ones it up in periscope mode saying - ok - we're here - feed us! (Not that they should be hungry).

Think I was wrong about the food - didn't see it come in, just saw a dark spot where one of them was standing. The newly arrived eagle is now moving closer, and I'm still not sure who it is. The adult is standing over the chicks now, partially sheltering them while their heads pop out here and there.

Parent fed 'lets from 6:24 pm until 6:33 pm with eldest sibling getting most of the food. More than once parent attempted to feed youngest 'let but Little One was hesitant to receive food.

Thanks for the pictures, CAL! I hadn't noticed that the little one might not be eating as much - will try to keep an eye out for that tomorrow.

A bit out of sequence - these are from around 5 pm -

You just get one of the chicks down for a nap
