The babies are looking great !! D1 from last year decided she was gonna go visit some Canadain polor bears as she is out on the Hudson bay ,wonder where the little gal will travel next,so intresting.

7:29 PM ~ Let flies from upper Y branch to lower...then to nest.


7:37 ~ Let leaves nest & comes to lower Y branch...then flies to upper.


7:40 ~ Parent to lower Y branch.

7:45 PM ~ Think parent on lower Y branch is Mom...hard to tell, so far away in view.


8:07 ~ Hi y'all, we're still here.


8:10 ~ Meanwhile...back at the nest...D14 is spending time alone...that makes ID's out on Y D12 & 13.

8:30 PM ~ Nest may look empty...it is not...D14 is hidden by nest support limb.


My nest isn't empty either...have 2 grands...one 24 & one 19 staying overnight.

I am usually before the chickens & wake up before the roosters...headed that way now.

Two Decorah Eaglets Are Branching

Two of the eaglets have branched (June 9 and June 12). The third is still thinking about it. When you watch the video, check out his crop! He is well-fed.

5:53 AM ~ Cam panning...stopped to show one let (?) on Y & one (D14) on nest.


6:09 ~ D14 standing on one foot.


6:13 ~ Panned back to let on upper branch of Y.

6:29 AM ~ Eaglet has moved to lower branch of Y.


6:34 ~ Practice-practice-practice.


6:37 ~ Take-off of successful flight back to nest...then right back out to lower Y.

6:52 AM ~ Close-up of let on Y branch...believe this is D13.


Hopping over to Sportsman Paradise Online to check if there's word about where D12 may be...brb.

Nope, nothing definite...just speculation...as in, "Must be out catching her own fish this morning."

Now someone is saying they saw her on a limb under the nest...good to know she's still close by.

7:30 ~ D14 taking a break & watching Y branch activity.


Computer acting wacko...had to shut down and see to putting it out of its misery...gone about 30 minutes.
