The lone eaglet was quietly contemplating the universe. One parent was perched above the nest.

Smugglers Slough nest * 6-6-12

At the SS nest, there is also only one youngster.
It was also quietly staring out at the world.
Both parents were perched near the nest.

Hi Linda * Thanks for looking in. The weather has been pretty miserable around here, so I don't get out as much as I should.
Yesterday I did a nest tour.

The Red-tailed Hawk nest appeared empty. They may have fledged or were just hunkered down?

No one was seen at the Red River nest either.
However, the Smugglers Slough nest was occupied.

Smugglers Slough Nest * 6-19-12

On the way into the farm, I noticed four Turkey Vultures circling.
It was not long before I found six more working on a calf carcass.
This one was reluctant to leave.

When I got back to the SS nest, I could see Junior on the nest, but no parents around.
After 20 minutes, both parents came flying in. Pa had a small fish to deliver.
