8:28 pm Close up of parent. It's hard being a parent.

And on that note, off until tomorrow. Positive thoughts for Delta 2 eagles.

This is one sad nest and i wonder how long the eaglets can prevail.
I think the parents are looking for food at the garbage dump, and not successful there,
From the beginning, these eaglets have been through many rough times; even snuggling together to keep warm when they should have had constant parenting.
At first, bunnies or birds were brought to the nest. The parents are forlorn looking , too
At sometime, maybe the female had a head injury by the look of her beak. She doesn't seem "with it" to me! Sorry to be so critical......but it is out of much concern and wonderment!
Wouldn't we just love to see a big fish delivered for a bedtime meal!

Thx for the update on this nest gals. It would just MAKE my day
if a big fish were brought to the nest. This is one site that disturbs me.
I hope things get better. Life is not good here. Hope it changes.

Maybe a big salmon and also some road kill could be found near the nest tree by the parents...that would be nice....especially Delta must have some ferrel rabbits instead of culling them because there were so many like Richmond had to do or talked about doing. Richmond is next door to Delta.

Evening everyone! I'm not here a lot but had to come read up on this nest.

I'd quickly like to 'chime in' on a few things ... first, the parents are fine. If they were malnourished and unable to find any food - they wouldn't be here! They are birds ... they do the best they can with the instincts they are born with. Granted - some are smarter than others (I truly believe this). second ... if they were malnourished they probably wouldn't be able to produce eggs in the first place.

Lastly ... in the 2 hours now I've had the cam up I have seen GW take a poop and move around the nest. Of course, not laying down at all though. New plastic brought in ... too bad the people that toss it can't see where it ends up!! GW is currently calling/talking at Mom just like Linux. (of course it's taking a long time to write this because I keep going back to check on them.)

Anyway ... it's getting late for me and I'm losing my train of thought. So, I will try to keep watching them when I can and post anything of significance I see. Good thoughts and prayers for both of them. Smile

??? Richmond, VA is on the other side of the country from the Delta nest.

Hello to all the new posters here. We really appreciate all the prayers and well wishes for our baby here! Tonight Goldwing looks like he/she is complaining just about as much as Linux for food. That is encouraging in my opinion! Now if only dad would bring them a late supperfingers crossed

I adopted the Delta2 nest!

As a reminder for those watching on our website or directly from WildEarth - you get a higher resolution image than you do on UStream - but the proportions are not accurate. I can connect directly to the cam, and the eagles really are as plump as they appear on UStream - not tall and skinny as they appear on our site or WIldEarth. We are hoping to get the new encoder installed soon so we can have better images without the eagles looking a bit squished but that requires several people to be available at the same time - and they're all busy people so it hasn't happened yet.
