It's been a miserable rainy morning in Maine - though the weather is supposed to be improving. (It does seem as if we've been getting all the rain that should have come in April all at once the last few days!) But the chicks look warm and dry during this brief feeding:

It looked to me as if both got some - though it was hard to tell who was who. I didn't do a video - tree was blowing about a bit too much for comfortable viewing - but here are a couple of s'caps.

Another feeding! The wind has stopped, making the cam much easier to watch - the nest was really swaying back and forth earlier.

It looks to me as if #1 is plotting to escape the nest bowl!



Both of them gave me a look at their fast-growing little wings - but I wasn't fast enough to catch either shot.

#1 was one week old yesterday, and #2 is one week old today - and that is about the age that they get big enough to climb out of the indentation where the eggs are laid and explore a bit of the nest.

She did get out briefly yesterday - and seems to be enjoying the sun on the upper deck this morning!

Looks as if they're both out of the bowl area now -






And Mom's taking advantage of their being "outside" to clean their room! (Or, more accurately, she seems to be doing a bit of digging in the nest bowl area and rearranging the fluff down there.)

They're getting so big - just missed a shot of the wings.

We're a bit concerned because we haven't seen any food arrive this morning - Mom just left, so perhaps she's going to show Dad how it's done.
