I just called Ken. He'll be able to check on it soon, probably in a couple of minutes.

I just heard back from Ken, and it's streaming at their end, so it may be a problem at WIldEarth. I'm going to send an email to Peter there, and hopefully he'll be able to have a look in the morning there, which will be well before our morning here!

I've had a lot of buffering with the White Rock Eagles cams. Is it WildEarth that is causing the problem?

I hope you will consider adding a YouTube button to the message box. There are some instructions for doing that here:

Good thought on the YouTube button, beans, but it may be a bit trickier that we have time for right now. Our forum uses glFusion software, rather than phpBB, and the last time I looked, I didn't see any way to add custom BBCodes or the equivalent. We can do a lot of that through various configuration screens - but there's also a lot that's built into style sheets, and that's a level above where I have access.

And I think the freezing is more likely a result of some of our servers needing either more bandwidth or faster connections. I know Ken is working on it, and I know it's very frustrating, for watching as well as for trying to document the action - and I wish I had a quick answer, but I don't.

Thank you very much, Judy for answering my questions. I now realize that the YT button isn't easy to add. Thank You

Do appreciate knowing about the bandwidth. I tend to blame my computer for everything, and sometimes it is actually innocent of any wrong-doing. Bash computer

I can't help but think back to the very early days and the struggle to watch the cams because of bandwidth issues. It's hard to think we have come full circle back to an issue I thought we'd seen the last of. Mad I know we were discouraged from keeping cams up if we weren't watching them and It wasn't so long ago that WE had a time-out feature on the cams that had to be clicked on after 30 minutes to keep the stream open. Are there measures we can take as individual viewers to minimize the strain on the bandwidth (and perhaps the strain on the sanity of our technical crew!!) and maybe have a better viewing experience for all of our viewers?

Good question, Terry. To the degree that I understand all the various (and occasionally conflicting) things I've heard, I don't think there's anything we can do at our end. My guess - and this is a semi-educated guess, but I don't actually know - is that some of the equipment that was moved as part of the transition from Richard to Ken and Mike either isn't fully operational or doesn't yet have the upgraded service it needs for the sort of things we do. I know that they'd like to get it working at full speed, if only to avoid getting "how are we doing?" emails from me Roll eyes - and also know how long it took to get my home internet service upgraded.

Keeping fingers crossed....
