No before pics of the deck...trust me...it was rotting out on both ends.
A very sentimental spot for me, because Bob's middle brother, Tom, built it.
Tom passed away in 2001 & it holds so many precious memories of him.

Brian sawed away about 1' 8" from each end...moved all support posts in that far...so there's a nice overhang eave on each end...added 2 new support posts & new deck pieces to a few boards.

From East end now...still need to apply new stain:

From West end now...and the plant I picked up that almost did me in:

It is called a Prayer Lily...and boy, oh boy...did I ever need them after trying to move it! Faint

Everything is new in the front bath...except tub & shower tile...too small an area to get any good pics...but I love it all!

I am amazed at the wonderful things this program, "Great Days of Service", accomplishes each year.
The church's blessings & donations, the volunteers sharing their time & abilities, the blessings & friendships gained...mere words can not describe the love shown & shared all around.

This was their 11th year & they do from 20 to 35 homes each year.

Ready with dinner............

Hi Judy, a open market is also great. I thought maybe you have also a special day in the year to sell, like a garage sell or so ( we don`t have that) , but every weekend is great. We have a second hand store, half the money is for a good goal. But most of the prices are to high, I think.

Jean, what a work did they do eh....and you too. Everything out of the way, what a work. I google the color you said, a few weeks back. It looks sure great in the living room. What a different floor in the kitchen, also great, love wood. But I want to have a deck like you, it is so romantic. You have real chairs outside and garden chairs. Whow, Ruud did make a deck on paper for me. The pity thing is....we don`t have enough good weather to sit outside and the view is bad, another house to close to ours. It is so clever they really know what to do at your deck. Your deck is perfect. Congratulations Jean and thank you neighbor-friend of you for giving you up.

That reminds me of the pict. from Brigitte`s house.

Click on the pict. for bigger.

Her living room.
First we take of the wall paper. Then scour the door and door frame and window frames. Then paint "broken"white.
