A few pics of the Fire Hall eagle in the nest, the first time I was there between 2:20 and 2:30 pm. I think it was Mom in the nest and she got up, appeared to tend to an egg, turned around and resumed incubating. The light is not the best at that time of day. It was beautiful and sunny here this morning but I had chores to do before heading out to do my birding and by the time I got to the nest there were big black clouds over half the sky. Click bigger.

2 more pics of Mom from my earlier visit and 1 from my 2nd visit at approx. 4:36pm. The clouds had moved away by that time. Click bigger.

Nobody home at the Golf Course nest. I took a pic of the nest from the road and one from the top of Anderson Hill, where I spotted 2 eagles sitting on the small island off the Oak Bay waterfront. Click bigger.

2 pics of one of the Anderson Hill eagles sitting on the rock on Trial Island. S/he appeared to be eating something in the first pic. Click bigger.

Visited all three nests a couple of days ago.

No one visible at the Firehall, but one of the neigbours said Ma was definitely in there and he had seen her just that morning. He also said about a week ago she and her mate
" escorted" a visitng juvenile out of the area.

Indeed, we next saw 2 juvies sitting on an island in the Oak Bay Marina. While we were watching in swooped Pa ( likely Pa Firehall) to shoo them away. One complied and the other just sat there. Pa stayed and just looked at it for the longest time but it did not budge.

We could also see two adults sitting on another island in the bay. There did not appear to be anybody home at the Golf Course so I am thinking it must have been them. Are they not nesting?

Next stop, Anderson Hill, where both the old and new nest appeared unoccupied. But while we were up there a juvie flew in and we could hear an eagle calling from the vicinity of the nest. Ma Anderson Hill must be in there and we just can't see her.

Very curious. Puzzled The nest bowls are all very deep. Avoiding prying eyes or expecting bad weather?
