6:20 a.m.
Another day of "Egg Watch" This is approx. day 35 for the first egg -- if we got our day of laying correct. Unfortunately we had no camera view when it was laid.

Egg roll. Not seeing any visible pips when I checked on the full screen cam.

Another egg roll but Mom kept her back to the camera and the eggs were hidden from view.

6:52 a.m.
Mom is up poking about in the nest bowl but again keeps her back to the camera.

Lots of calling going on by Mom. No idea if it's a warning for intruders or a shout to Dad to come and take over.

7:44 a.m.
Mom just flew off and the eggs are laying alone on the nest.

7:48 a.m.
Eggs are still unattended. No sign of either parent yet. ... and NO PIPS yet.

7:50 a.m.
Eggs were alone for 6 minutes before Dad arrived to take over. He was definitely in no hurry this morning.

Of course the first thing Dad does when he finally gets down to incubating is to poke around in the nesting material.

7:40 a.m. Sure everytime I get here says Pa as he looks around cause Ma just flew off for the great switch. I love how he looks everywhere before finally going over to the eggs as if to say Here I go again ,as he carefully moves around to place his body over the eggs.
Okay how about a bobblehead today you two?

7:46 am

Just saw a switch at the nest - I don't often catch them both at home. Did get a look at the eggs, and don't see anything obvious in terms of pips or cracks - I think there's something visible in my second s'cap, but it didn't move with the egg.

A moment later, something has the adult upset

He took off a minute after my s'cap - eggs are now alone.

[edited my post to correct gender of the adult on the nest ~JudyB]
