Good afternoon everyone who stops by.Hello

Such a beautiful day today so we went for a walk to Snickett Park and were entertained by several eagles. We saw two immature eagles in trees, this one was well hidden.Grin

Here's another.

We then saw an eagle swoop down toward the water chased by loads of crows.

Then we saw an adult perched at the top of a tree, at the end of the park, out past the rocks.

After watching these, as we walked back, we were entertained by two huge eagles flying atop the trees - too quick to get any pics - then out over the water.

Sandra, they do look strange when they are soaked.Grin Possibly Ma was calling to Pa - time to change!

Hello Glad you saw good eagle activity yesterday! It certainly was a glorious day to be out. We walked at Davis Bay then ended up walking way out at very low tide. We don't think we've ever seen it so low. This was between 11:30 and 12:30. While walking out a large number of crows chased about 7-8 juvies out from the park treed area across the beach toward the water right over us. I'm not sure if any pictures turned out. Will work on them when I can. The juvies landed right at water's edge, then shortly flew back toward the park. We made a point of looking for the nest as you described and pictures from that distance showed a white head in the nest. Left thumb up The other adult was sitting in the perch tree nearby.
Then lunch at the Lighthouse and another walk in Porpoise Bay Provinical Park. People are camping already! Left thumb up The only eagles seen was one adult from the Lighthouse soaring briefly out over the marina area. Two turkey vultures were over the water as well.
Another lovely day today! Our walk will be at Chaster at low tide again to see if there is any eagle activity there. Then home to prepare our Easter meal.
Happy Easter! hug

Hello Thanks for stopping by Kay. Pictures of the juvies are dark and were hard to capture. It all happened in a flurry, coming right overhead. Hard to get the camera to focus on the hits, sun not at the best angle. This is what I captured.

3 juvies overhead. The one on the left looks pretty ragged. Oh My

In the next 2 pics, a juvie had just been hit by a crow or a raven. We really aren't sure now. Don't Know One juvie was flipped upside down in the air with talons up, looking like it was trying to capture its aggressor. No luck there.
eta Actually, maybe those are ravens losing their flying balance. It was a melee.

On a gentler note, other water edge scavengers. I love their talking sounds. Oystercatchers. Marg, you introduced us to them a couple of years ago.

7:37pm Through the telescope.

Stalashen nest. Shift change. Saw one eagle fly into the tree then the one on the nest flew out - they did a wide circle flying together then back into the tree but not for long, another fly around then one landed at the top of the tree and the other settled in on the nest.Grin I observed this 2 nights ago also.
