Thanks Scott and Kay for stopping by and leaving your comments my friends. The Great Blue Heron with a fish was awesome to watch and take photos and videos. Lots of bird action right now on the water, ground, trees, and air.

I had less time this past week to explore but I had a few great encounters. the first one I'm going to share is of a gathering of migrating American White Pelicans. They were on the Mississippi River in the area before the locks and dams. There is a spill off of water at the site they were gathered fishing. It made for wonderful photos and videos. I made this recording from my observation of the American White Pelicans catching fish.

They dive their heads into the water and catch the fish with their bills and attached pouch water and all. Then they tilt their heads back and swallow the fish and water.

A Great Fishing Day For The American Pelicans

Watching for the fish to drop from the spill off and swim by.


The pelicans with the knob on their bills are in their breeding time.

They have BEAUTIFUL eyes and the yellow area around them is gorgeous also!!!!!
