7:49am
Adult brooding, facing 6ish, sure wish we knew wheat type of bird that is on the side of the nest.

7:50am
Adult calling out with head stretched up, then quiet.

7:52am
Adult up from the bowl, flies off from 2 and back in at 2 almost immediately...assuming its the same one.
Settles in facing 12.

8:03am
Adult is alert, still brooding.

Sandra, the bird looks like some kind of duck. Quite a few of them have green feathers on their wings. I can't figure out which way it is turned but it could be a American Wigeon or a female Mallard Puzzled

Hi Kay Hello, hi jkr Hello

Kay, I think you got it Clapping, it certainly looks like the American Widgeon.

jkr, love the photo of Dad with his neck stretched waaaay up Grin.

2:16pm
Seemed to take forever for the cam to come up, when it finally did Dad was just settling down to brood.
He's brooding from 9/2 and he turns to face the cam with his beak open.....it's a lovely day her on the west coast Cool.

(unable to capture photos, not at my home computer No)

2:19pm
Dad's looking upwards into the tree, and again....he does not appear to be bothered though.
The bird on the side of the nest appears untouched, so far.

I just noticed something else in the nest that is not in the photos above. It's between 2 and 3 and just above the dead bird. Cannot tell if it's grass or more food, maybe another bird Don't Know.

Little Kopit

What I want to know is what holds that ice cream cone packaging in place. It's bound to be cardboard. & I'd think cardboard would blow away. So, any ideas of what holds it in place?

Parent on the nest with a feather sticking out on the right wing. I wonder if it's broken ... out of place --- or maybe she is shedding a feather Puzzled
