he watched her doing it yesterday Dede then really paid attention this morning so at least for males we know its a learned behavior not built in as with females. Sooooo cute!!! His first offer was he took a bite off then stayed motionless then started toward the chick then back, then toward then back then he ate it. Same with the second one then the third one bingo!!! He's got the nest jammed full with fish, likely at least 12 and now he feeds them. Twice when there's been an intruder in the area he stayed on the bowl all night so Belle the bigger of the two could be the guard!...he's perfect! hug

Oh boy - it's exactly as I predicated - peregrine falcon and nuthatch are in a real close neck to neck battle. We need to rally as many people to the peregrine's cause! GO PEREGRINE!

Cornell Lab of Ornithology
We've got our first true nail-biter of the tournament today. White-breasted Nuthatch and Peregrine Falcon have exchanged leads throughout the day, and right now they're separated by only about 5 percent of the votes cast. These are the #3 and #5 finishers from last year's tournament, and you can tell that from how close the contest is today! Voting lasts all through the night, so cast yours and share this post to rally support for your favorite.
