Melting Arctic ice could poison ecosystem, experts say

John Size — Arctic sea ice that's been melting at a dramatic rate in the last few decades is releasing a chemical soup that could poison the food chain with mercury and other dangerous chemicals, a new study suggests.

The team found that when the salt in sea ice, frigid temperatures and sunlight interact a chemical reaction releases bromine atoms into the atmosphere, which then mix with a gaseous form of mercury creating a pollutant that falls back to Earth.

Hi. It’s really a serious problem but we all only just talk about it, No one take strong step toward it. The main cause of melting the ice of Arctic is cutting down the tree. Another major reason for this is pollution. If we really want to stop it then the first step towards that should be taken is stop cutting down the forest. If grow more tree then the pollution didn’t effect the atmosphere then we can stop melting the Arctic ice on some amount.
