Happy Sunday Dear ELFS!
We have had some very nice rainfall and I have really enjoyed it. Everything looks so fresh.
The sun is peeking in and out so hope to get out and about after a while. Weathe report
says we may have showers on and off...hope not. I'm glad you liked the little video.
Karen , The Japanese Garden at Butchart is just so pretty. I love seeing the Saxe Point eagle and that's a great shot. That rose is gorgeous and the cherry blossoms too! On tv this morning they had shots of the cherry blossoms in Washinton and said they are blooming early this year.
Carolyn, I've had trouble with the time change too...little better the last couple of days tho. The I really enjoyed your poem....I always do!
I love Japanese architecture so really enjoyed the photos of the Golden Pavillion and Todaji Temple; both are beautiful. The deer shot would make a pretty watercolor.
Joanne, Beautiful sunset off your balcony and Miss Winston
Gabi - Omg, all that time translating. I'm sure happy and appreciative that you go to that trouble for us. The ladies of your village sure are talented. The spring fountain is lovely.
Thank you so much for the receipe. I will make that for sure.
Omg Christian, The closeup of the juvie is outstanding!
Aw Jo, Tyson and Zach are such fun to see. Thank you for posting those.
Sara, That's a great shot of Old Faithful! Wow, that's mighty close to that bear...cool shot of h/h.
What a cutie the squirrel is Christian! I was already in a good mood but he makes it even better. Thanks for posting.
I'll be back with a few photos of Dazee.

Had enough Dazee?

I think most people don't like crows but I really do. I do get annoyed with them though when they
divebomb Mom and Dad WR.

Hi ELFs......
I have been out with family most of the day. My son was in town for a day so we went to see him at Cat's before he went back up to Dallas to his family. Did I tell you that his 6th child due in July is a boy - after 5 girls, the oldest being 8. He is rather happy!
Anyway we also did Bluebonnet pictures, a Texas tradition, where you drive to the gorgeous wildflowers and take pictures of kids and family We went.about 45 minutes away from here in a big field, followed by dinner at Kountry Katfish - a very different kind of place. They have the best Chocolate Cream Pie.......
Christian, I am fluent in Japanese. Learned in Japan at age 16 in three weeks as an Exchange Student, studied for 4 years at university starting the next year after got back and got so far as 1/2 my Masters. Worked for various Japanese firms as an interpreter - if you want to know more just tell me. One of the coolest things I did though was when 16 translating at a gorgeous Geisha House in Kyoto which was very famous for foreign tourists basically from Japanese to English, French and German. I had a beautiful kimono I got to wear.
One of my funniest stories is that I had been home a week from Japan (now 17) when my mom told me that I had been speaking in Japanese to her for the entire week. She was a very patient person, I believe.
The pictures I have seen are fantastic - I love your juvie eagle Christian. The squirrel though stole my heart. Also, Sara's Old Faithful and the bear that was mighty close. Annie's Dazee lounging in the pool makes that pool seem mighty inviting. Gillian, your avatar is wonderful. We totally enjoy having you with us. Jo, Tyson and Zack are precious as is Winston. You win my vote for cutest pets of the feathered and furry kind. That means having all those varieties in one household. Everyone's pets are precious!
I hope I did not miss anyone......y'all are a joy to have in my life,
carolyn

Hi Gillian, As you can tell, we love that you have joined us.
Dazee and Donald are wild. They have been coming to our pool for 7 years now. I have no idea why they chose our place but am so glad they did. They are a lot of fun and know us well, especially me. They come in February and stay until mid-July. I don't get to swim but I'm happy to sacrafice that since it stays hot here sometimes as late as November so I still have plenty of pool party time.
Looking forward to your pictures!

My last of the 5 picutres I am posting is of Mt Ranier near Seattle, Wa. It is only totally visable a few days out of every year. When we flew in to Seattle to go on the Alaskan Cruise, we saw it from the plane, then when we got into the city to do some sightseeing it was beautiful. I love this one with it looming over Seattle.

The next day, it was still visable, so we drove toward it, but didnt' have time to go all the way to it. This is about 40 miles out of the city. We were trying to find a good place to take pictures without power lines, etc in the way. We went back in a neighborhood trying to see it between houses. A man was in his front yard and we asked if we could go to his back yard to get a picture. He offered better than that and took us to his deck.
I can't imagine seeing this every day out my back door, just like Karen can see the Olympic mountians from her house. Such beauty.
This isn't great since it is taken out of the double paned, scratched windows of the plane, but it was amazing to see it from the sky.
This has been so fun looking back at my pictures and taking a trip down memory lane. Also great to see what all the rest of you have seen. I hope everyone continues to post pictures to bring areas you see to all the rest of us.
