Good evening Hornby! wave

Hey gemini2kd, Starr, Reta, and onemorefan! Hello

Won't it be exciting to see Ma and Pa in action again? Wub I love Doug's updates, and he paints such vivid pictures of their action, but we can get s'caps!

onemorefan, I've seen the wind warnings for Vancouver Island, but I"m not sure how they affect Hornby Island or if they do. (I assume they would since it's on the east side of Van. Island) When Doug shows up, he can probably answer your question better then anyone else can.

Morning Hornby wave

Just wondering how Doug, Sheila and Ma and Pa Hornby made out with the horrible wind storm last night. I heard the Comox area was one of the areas affected. Would be wonderful to hear from Doug Nodding talons crossed that all is well with all our friends on Hornby Island hug.

Here is the link to the CBC story on the BC Wind Storm and the areas affected; the schools were closed in Comox today.

Good evening Hornby! wave

Thanks for the link Debs! I don't know how windy it was on Hornby, but I just checked the weather, and there's still a wind warning for East Vancouver Island. Winds overnight on Hornby will be in the 22mph (35k/mh) from the southeast, and slowing down Wednesday to 18mph (30k/mh). Hope everyone on Hornby is fine and no loss of power!

Just a heads up...Wednesday around noon Pacific time, the forum will go off line for an hour or so. They're changing and updating the servers for the forum.

Good Evening,

Just found out about this forum from PatB.... and the new cam. I am estatic. The Hornby's were my very first pair of eagles and like many others went to Sidney when sadness struck.

I have watched both since. Cannot tell you how happy I am that our Hornby's will be back. I do hope Doug drops in here at times with his observations.

Very HappyCheers

wave Good evening Hornby friends!!

I have a friend who lives outside of Victoria who told me that the windstorm Monday was pretty fierce. There were lots of trees down in the area, and branches the size of large Christmas trees everywhere. Many areas had power outtages, and they cancelled 90 ferry sailings that day. Small aircraft and helijet flights were also grounded. All said and done, how this storm affected Hornby is another thing. I would expect that even in less windy conditions, Ma and Pa would be "grounding" themselves and hunkered down somewhere safe. Smile

It sure is great to hear from everybody! I look forward to 'seeing' all of you! Grin
