Judy, thanks for the cute video. I wish they would have done a better job with the music just my opinion. Laugh
Judy, you weren't coughing near your monitor were you? I have come down with your virus!! Nodding Either that or a truck ran over me in my bedroom as I slept last night.............. No I was feeling so smug that I hadn't gotten sick this winter - that's always the kiss of death, isn't it? Kiss

I got home so late yesterday from being with MIL - she was afraid of being "alone" and needed help so I stayed all afternoon. She was half catatonic yesterday (better today) and so weak and couldn't swallow due to ... well, we need not go into gory details, but it was difficult. We finally called in the hospice nurse. We got her on an expectorant and hope that helps her clogged throat.

All the way driving back from Boulder I could feel the sore throat developing and I was feeling sick. Didn't need this this week, that's for sure. We think Mr. Dede has pneumonia as he has been really struggling with normally-controlled asthma for several weeks. Scary. We're a couple of crocks right now! Roll eyes Evil He's calling doc tomorrow but already did one Z-Pak which didn't help.... I'm going to have to sit on him; he keeps going biking and to the gym. Rest? What's that? Help emo

Elle, saw that Linda kindly answered the dysphagia question. It is indeed swallowing issues due to weak throat muscles and the danger is aspiration of food into the lungs and then, pneumonia and that could be fatal. I don't think we would ever do a feeding tube. Right now she's needing help to eat and all is pureed and thickened as someone said. Sorry for all the grim details. Know several of you guys can relate.

I will leave you with a couple of pics I took in my travels yesterday. You can see how dry & brown we are out on the plains while the higher mountains are covered in snow. It will be unseasonably in the 70's all this week!

Good Morning My Dear Friends,Hello

Today is an exciting one, I head to Alton to meet Sarah the representative of the eagle photo contest. I will update you when I get home. Nodding

Iona, Thank you for the update on the loses in your area from that horrible shooting. I'm so glad to hear that some of the victims are healing. Wub I will be more careful, the man and the people in the tower watching will make my visits to the nest different this year. I do not believe once the bushes and trees fill with leaves anyone from the tower will be able to spy from the sky. Nodding

Nancy, It sound like you are having a wonderful visit with your son and family. What beautiful photos you brought us, I love that beautiful Mute Swan and Coot.Red Heart

Dede, I'm so sorry to hear you and your hubby are ill. Please get some rest and I hope your hubby follows up with his doctor. I'm like him also, I work out no matter what, I know it is not good, but it is like brushing my teeth, a habit.Nodding I'm so sorry about your MIL's condition, she and your MIL are in my prayers my friend.hug

Lovely photos from your trip, love those mountains.Red Heart

JudyH, Good to hear from you and I have been there and done all of that. When I first started watching the nests I was being late for work.Wooh After my first call to for being late, I changed that habit fast. I also remember losing five pounds, due to skipping meals, afraid I would miss something at the nests. Then I settled in and found how to handle it all, sort of.Titter The good news is the great friends I have made here at HWF and all the wonderful eagles things I have learned. Nodding

I look forward to seeing more of you here at the EA Nest and HWF.Hello

Scott, Thanks for starting our day and for the link to our beloved bears my friend.Smile

Judy, Thank you for your video and eagle captures GF. I hope what you posted is true about the body of LIL Bit being buried under the nest bedding. May it soar for ever in eagle heaven.Wub

Well I better get moving, see you all later.Hello

Mornin {{{{{{{Nesties}}}}}}}}} Hello Wub

I don't know if I told you guys that Tiny's check engine light came back on again. I had the kid put $20 in him and crank the cap tight and parked him. The next day BFF had to move him and said it was on so I called Ross and he came and got him. It wasn't on then and he couldn't get it to come on either. So when I went to rheumy guy I'm only about 10 min's out of town and boing! on she came. I kept forgetting to call Ross cause I didn't go out. Last night at 10:30 I headed into town for my Timmies and it came on the minute I started out. Ross just left with him and my summer tires now. I told him obviously the sensor they sent was faulty so he's ordering a new one and trying again....yeesh. I got coffees for today and tomorrow so I'm good Titter

awwwww JudyH so glad you liked my nestorations, I won't be hurt if you change things around to suit you better. Laugh I love the ones you added to mine! yes you'll get a handle just watch! I'll tell you what I did when I first came to HWF, I had a word document where I would put a name with a few notes on it beside it. Sooooo screen name...followed by real name and notes as reminders. Didn't take long that way. Love how hooked you are with the eagles...they are life changing in a big big way and not all for the good but mostly. What's your puppy and what's his name? Pic of him please? Wub How cooool that you are a trainer!!

Judy you've done some selective eagle learning there girlfriend. Yes eagles are scavengers, that's why they hang out at the dump. They get their fluids mostly from what they eat so prefer live kills but they'll eat anything given the chance. Go read the last 3 days on the thread if you can stand it

awwww nuts Dede!!! Sad I hope you kick it soon, thanks for the pics GF

and woooooooohooooooooo to pics Nanc!! Clapping great to know you're out having fun with the family! love I love the woodstork too...they're prehistoric looking or something

weeeeeeeeee Linda!! can't wait to hear how it goes!! Cloud 9 You know one way to think of baby being consumed is that he goes on to make his siblings stronger. Well his body anyway....his spirit is in fish heaven

that's all I can do right now Nesties....mantles to the rest o' the nest hug

Good morning Nestmates hugKiss

First I would like to say we are in the middle of a wicked wind storm 90 kliks per hour winds and even Einsteins giant St. Burnards size dog house has was blown off of its hackles clear across the back yard. The hydro is out in a lot of areas of Vancouver and Richmond and no ferries are running so we are in for this wind storm most of the day says the weather reports....so if I disapear it means the power went out in my area of the city because there are power outs everywhere and trees down and branches on the highways.

Second you are right Lori so I was wrong Linda as I just read a whole page from the George Miksch Sutton Avain Research Center blog on Lil Bits and his demise and sometimes it has been documented that the adults will eventually feed their remaining young the dead eaglets remains but it some cases also the adults will bury the body under the grasses until they can dispose of the body or eat it. Mother Nature and survival of the fitest.WoohFaint

Scott I don't think the wind storm has reached Chilliwack yet but be prepared as the winds are up to 90 liks and it is ficious...batton down the hatches WoohPhew

Aw Dede thats too bad but GF thats how mine started I woke up like a mac truck had ran me down but the worst part of this cold was the phlem and the caughing up green phlem which last about two weeks and only rest can help you recover fast. I guess you were like me run down from taking care of your MIL and also got it from your hubby. Gary was lucky this time he didn't get it from me but I got it from one of my sons the one that smokes and he still says his was the flu but I received one of those three in one flu shots this season so mine was definetely a very bad cold. I'm still taking the cough medicine for keeping the phlem down as my sinuses were involved and I had to blow my nose every 5 minutes sore under nose for 2 weeks now and cough up and spit out the phlem....so I was a mess. Hope you feel better soon fingers crossed as I don't wish this cold on anyone.Oh My

Well back to "as the nest turns" and the Lafarge nest to wait for the first egg to be laid but I don't think it will be today because the wind will blow poor ma Lafarge off of the nest bowl Oh My

bbl Out

Lori, where is the discussion forum you posted the image from? I have looked high and low on HWF and find no listing for that nest. I seem to have more trouble finding certain nests and the discussions that accompany them -- and if I do find the thread it is an old one from 2010 - 2011 nesting season! Help emo But, I've not found any thread that has the name Vian or Okla. or Sequoyah. Don't Know What am I missing here? No

Some of these nests have multiple names as well which doesn't help. Like Shepherdstown is also W. Va. and I think you also call it NCTC or something like that. But then again, I'm usually confused. Laugh
