Wind has picked up a bit; Mom looks beautiful
incubating in this light.

Had to edit my post had to many smilies ...trying to stay with 3 max per post ...a challenge for me.

Mom was up to tend to the egg and egg cup area
too.








bbl have chores a calling

3.42 Dad is getting his first opportunity to incubate babyegg.

3.45 Dad is trying to get the egg down into the bowl... but... I am wondering if this is just a shallow bowl. You can see the tip of the egg just under his chest.

3.49Dad settles into a good position to incubate babyegg.



WOW ... a huge gust of wind nearly blows K10 out of the nest... well, not really, but he was a hanging on for dear life.


Dad is using his right wing to help secure him on the nest.
It seems like the wind is just getting worse.

350 pm

Mom's coat feathers are being brushed and
lifted by the wind at times.

Going to be a windy night at the nest
and we can see the wind has already picked
up.

Gusts of up to 40 to 55 mph are expected for the
Channel Islands.

355 pm
Dad turn to incubate now.

3.57 Definitely a shallow bowl here...

4 pm
Dad hunkers down in the nest to shield
self from the wind but we could see the wind
caught his back coat feathers and nearly flipped
him forward (which we have see before at PH)

So far he is staying grounded.
