I wonder what we'll see at the nest today....

The combination of spiderwebs and night vision makes it hard to see into the nest yet - but I don't see any raccoons there!

Dear Mods -- this beautiful little video needs to be moved into the correct thread so that everyone can appreciate it...

[Admin note - great video! And now at home on the Decorah thread. Thanks, priscillsh and beans! ~JudyB}
-----------------------------------------------

I've been checking Delta O.W.L. almost every day: no eagles (except perhaps flying by in the background).

OK, today I mean business! I've got my recorder on! I've figured out the Evil Windows & Movie Maker (sort of...) and I'm ready to go!

Dear Mom and Dad Delta OWL, where are you???

9:25 am
I just saw an adult fly out of the upper branches and out across the fields, heading away from the cam.

(Note: I don't actually know that the eagle was perched higher up in the tree, but I know from Judy W's reports that they do perch there, and the trajectory was right, and I'm getting tired of the convoluted sentence structure needed to say it appeared that it might have come from the upper branches - so for now, please know that if I actually see an eagle perched in the tree, you'll hear me shouting all the way from Maine to BC - and otherwise, I'm making a reasonable assumption if I say the eagle flew or appeared to fly out of the tree. Smile )

9:25 am I saw what looked like an eagle fly past the nest from the right out towards the field, circle a couple of times and then head back towards the nest. It looked like it may have landed on the top of one of the trees to the left of the nest tree. Sorry, I wasn't quick enough to get a scap.

8:37 am
I saw something large fly by between the cam and the nest - and then something large came in and landed almost in view:

I had started to click the button to freeze the screen to take another s'cap of it when it left - it was behind the tree by the time the screen froze, and gone by the time I'd released it - but I think I saw a white tail as it was leaving.

If so, we're getting closer.... Smile

9:06 am
Just saw something large in the upper left corner of the screen, flying into the upper branches.

Added - just checked the CU cam, and no one is napping in the nest today.

9:11 am
Whatever was in the tree just flew away to the back - looked eagle size but I didn't see a white tail. With the angle, I can't be sure there wasn't one - but I didn't see one.

9:13 am
Something large flew across the very top of the screen - not sure it it went into the tree, but it might have done so.

Lots of large birds flying around, at least one of which was an adult eagle. No s'caps - they all fly so fast that I've give up reaching for my mouse.
