wave GOOD MORNING NESTERS

since returning from Miami I have been really busy. ONe day away and my desk is loaded and with a new boss starting and the old one still here until the 27th it is like keeping two people happy. LOLgiggle

Miami was awesome. It has been along time since I was off Island so really enjoyed the bright lights, the mounds of people, the traffice, and even the mall lineups were welcomed (well for the first 2 days maybe). Got some minor shopping done, did manage to fine the keyboard dock for my new Galaxy 10.1. Sure do love that machine. Cloud 9 Can be used with WiFi or for $19.00 amonth have unlimited internet access with a sim card. Fantastic!!

The Rheumatologist was awesome. Spend several hours in his office, talking over medical records, history etc.. and then he did a very thorough examination, confirming the Rheumatoid and Osteo Arthritis. The Rheumatoid being a very, very agressive form and he also did blood work on the spot. He said fo rme to keep on the Methatrexate and folic acid. Also said he was impressed that I was on Serrapeptase for 2 years and to stay on it. He put me on 5 mg. of Prednizone forever, then added a biologic Enbrel 50mg by injection once every week. He said to cut back on the folic acid from 5 mg to 2 mg as the folic acid would hamper the Methotrexate from doing its full potential. Said that after 3 months of the new meds I should be able to walk 2 miles. He was happy with the up to date weight loss and asked me to keep it up. I have to be very careful of course because the Enbel will once again diminish my immune system along with the Methotrexate. i have to stay away from sick people, and be careful inpublic and using cups/glasses/dishes in public as I will pick up infections that will be detrimental to me more than normal. i also have to have regular blood work to keep track of all the organ-related-side effects that can happen. I have to be positive here because I have a lot of pain and need to get this under control. He could not believe I was able to climb the steps to my office and really surprised when I told him I do it twice a day on most days. He took me out to the stairwell to climb up and down for him and he said my pain tolerance must be very, very high, because with my hips, knees and feet in the shape they are in I should not be able to do it. Fooled him I guess hmm:PuzzledOh My

I just have to wait for my doctor to return from vacation and then I start this new medication. He will be back on 1st March, 2012. Wish me luck, I know all the side effects, but have no alternative.

you can also pray for me on my return to Canada because he said I should not do that due to the cold but I have no other means of staying in the Cayman Islands. I could live here if I did not have to pay rent, but everyone charges for housing and that is only right. So as of now, I return to Canada after the end of September. No

Thank you all for your concerns re my sons hug When I was visiting my sick son in the hospital yesterday, the ear, nose & throat specialist came in to check on him. He explained what the medical emergency was and why he was prepared to do surgery immediately if needed. The medical term for his condition is Retropharyngeal Abscess which resulted from a very bad infection in his throat. He doesn't like to go to the doctor and doesn't like to complain when he is sick; therefore he just got sicker and sicker during the 4-day period and none of us knew Roll eyes My oldest son had been calling him for a couple of days and finally went to see him Tues. then took him to emergency right away. The specialist had done a test where they sprayed into the nostrils to freeze the tissue and put a scope down to have a look and assess the condition. That was before the CT scan was done. When the specialist came back in to see my son he asked if he had already had the CT scan and my son said he thought he had but didn't know for sure. He had no idea what a CT scan was and thought the scope might have been what the specialist was referring to. Coincidentally, my oldest son had a scheduled CT scan that morning on his hip and lower spine so when the e/n/t specialist called for the results of my middle son's CT scan, they sent the file for my oldest son; both of their first names begin with the same letter. The results of the scope test were then put into the file for my oldest son and when the specialist came back later and looked at the results sheet he realized there had been a mixup in the 2 files. Fortunately, neither one of my sons needed emergency surgery Phew However, the Retropharyngeal Abscess is a very serious condition due to the fact that the neck and throat become very swollen, making it hard to breathe and swallow. He coudn't even swallow his saliva and was using a suction tube like you get at the dentist after having a fluoride treatment. My son was feeling and looking a lot better yesterday and after the specialist had a look down his throat and checked his neck for tenderness and swelling, he told my son he could start eating and drinking. I took him down to the cafe and he ate a banana and had a drink of juice, and the nurse was going to order him a tray of food. He got the hiccups again and speculation is that after having morphine some people do get the hiccups. He was allowed to eat and drink up until midnight last night and was scheduled to have another CT scan sometime this morning. My oldest son doesn't have the results of his scan yet. We are all keeping fingers crossed that he doesn't have a serious problem that needs surgery.

It has been raining and raining here again and I'm about ready to fly away Click on image to download to a warm exotic hideaway Whistling

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Hi All -

I'll be back a bit later to check on everyone. Just wanted to ask you to send your thoughts to our Blackwater Babies. Over the past two days, there has been no new food delivery. The babes are less than a week old and yesterday, were left alone for 97 minutues once and 30 minutes another time; today the same.

We're a bit concerned that something may wrong with one of the parents, as it seems that only one parent has been on the nest today without a switch.

Both eagles were seen on the nest briefly last night at about 6:00 p.m. but that's the last time both have been seen.

Don't know what's up, but am worried about the wee ones. Just came in for a Nester hug!!!hug

Click on image to download I am back. it is about 2 hours later. Still away but checked on the nest and Judyb reported a fish delivery. yeah. Storming there now but the babies got food.

Kay it is a big relief for now and your sons seem to be improved! But will light candles anyway until they are perfectly fine for several days! Keep us informed, please! Smile happy

Oh I hope you are feeling better Bev! And the boys are being kind to you!

Oh Lonette, the B/W 'lets were hungry for a while, yikes! It always seems to be harder on the aunts and uncles watching the cams than the eagles themselves!
