Hi macdoum! I do try to visit Jewel and her family most days. Spent yesterday's cam time watching 2 raccoons sleeping all day in an eagles' nest I follow though. I'm back with Jewel now with a sucking motor running. Looks like Jewel is busy grooming one. Oh oh, loud complaining now. It is nice to see and hear that Jewel can do some grooming and moving about without constant complaining from beneath her. She just chewed on her front left paw pad. I don't see any movement from the white specks on her but hate to think what is living in that hairy hide.
Glad to hear your deep freeze has improved.

:hello: Yes macdoum it is wonderful seeing more of the cubs these days. I wonder how we can encourage Jewel to continue facing the camera?

I'm in "Lucky's" den this morning to see if he returned after finding Honey taking it over completely yesterday. She is there alone and seems quite agitated, moving around, blowing, vocalizing, going into his corner and throwing what almost seems like a temper tantrum. With some cam freezing it is hard to determine what she was doing but it sure was noisy.
14:06 cam time She has settled down mid den facing the doorway.

15:30 cam time Tension and drama in Lucky's den. I've popped in to find 2 bears in the den after Lucky denned on his own last night outside. I'm not sure who is who but am suspicious Lucky is the one lying in Honey's old position, Honey is the one rocking near the cam. It sounds like both bears are moaning, the one rocking near the cam clacking teeth, blowing. If I'm right, Honey is now the one blocked from the entrance. The one lying down is awake, looking tense. I find this behaviour very worrisome. :cry1:

:hello: Yes stim Honey & Lucky are sure having spats all winter. Why they persist in dennig together is a mystery.:dunno:
Lucky did spend one night in an improvised den but this love-hate couple are getting along at times.

(yesterdays update had a nice one too) Now the cubs are getting bigger its much easier to see them. The dencam is more peaceful too.

Morning macdoum! The recent videos of Jewel and cubs have been very endearing with lots of visuals of the cubs! Seeing them more, hearing them a bit less is good.
