Very good idea. birdofprey had posted her Mexican vacation pictures on this thread and so I followed suit with my pictures of Belize last year for lack of a better place.

elle, Just took a look at the photos from your trip to Central America, as well as bop's from the Mayan Riviera . The photos are spectacular , love the photo of the Keel-billed Toucan, how does he eat with that beak .

I recently spent a month down-under and would like to share a portion of the 3602 photos I captured...photos are clickable.

Sulphur-crested Cockatoo


Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo, these birds are beautiful and can be very destructive. This one was knawing on the tree trunk, pieces of it were falling down on us. There was quite a few of them in the trees around us and needless to say it was very very noisy with all their chatter.

Plover, This bird is a ground-nesting bird. They are a little silly, as they will lay their eggs anywhere, this one is brooding eggs in the middle of someone's front yard .

One of my favorite birds from our trip is the Australian Pelican

" What a wonderful bird is the pelican,
His bill will hold more than his belican,
He can take in his beak
Enough food for a week
But I'm damned if I see how the helican"

These birds are huge and we saw them in many places, never got tired of seeing them.
