Queenie: Nice to see the green heron stopping by for a drink. I’m pretty sure that the eagles I see from our backyard belong to one of the local nests. They seem to frequent that tree from November-January but after that they pretty much stay closer to their nests.

Lori: Wow, what a catch with your snowy owl and a blue sky in the background to boot. We’re having a lot of SO sightings in this area but I have yet to see one.

Pat, Hello to Callie and Buttons and a Happy New Year to you.

Lori: I would be very excited if I saw a Snowy Owl in my back yard too.

I have had many migratory birdies at the feeders and at the bird bath too. I always hope to see a Varied Thrush and generally I am rewarded every year.
This one came for a bath on a sunny morning at the end of October.

All these pictures were snapped through the kitchen window because the simple act of opening the back door could mean they will fly away! So not the bestest of quality but I always love to see them. They are quite pretty. Or handsome as the case may be.
