Oh - we have a visitor!

It's a lovely, cold morning in Maine - and there's an eagle in the nest.



I just checked the Maine forum, and both of them have been at the nest earlier this morning, but this is the first time I've seen one there in quite a while. And he or she left as I was typing, flying away to the right.

Both are there now.

I was going to comment how nice it is to see it calm over there - but by the time I had the scap ready - the wind picked up!
So good to see them tending the nest!

Lovely picture, Pat! This pic is from a little while ago - I thought there was only one eagle there, until I saw the other one poke his/her head out of the branch at the upper left. He or she was getting ready to jump down by the time I got the s'cap - but initially I only saw the white head.

I didn't get to the computer until late this morning - but did find an eagle in residence, apparently having a late breakfast.



The eagle has now moved to the Y branch at the back of the nest, perched there for a while looking around, and has just left, at 10:06 am

It's a nice sunny day - but no eagles seen or heard.
I was going to comment on how low the Y branch is - but looking back it has been like that for months.

Afternoon Maine

Thanks for all the reporting here; this has always been one of my fave nests
Pat nice capture of adult sitting in the nest practise makes perfect so they say

I hope we have a successful season in 2012.

Appears to be enjoying a meal in the nest
she has her back to us but she is bending
over and is ripping and tearing and eating
something.

The ads on the upstream cams are very annoying....and when watching multiple nests sometimes have to turn sound off to eliminate the pesky ads
