Wooh How wonderful to see so many visiting, even "stumbling into" this thread. Welcome Thank you for all the kind comments. I feel very privileged to have Marg and Mr. SC share the eagle nests they have discovered with us.
Larry, if you want any info regarding campsites here let me know. We had family visit summer 2010 so had an excuse to check them out first hand before everyone landed. Smile

Checked for eagles locally and in the Stalashen Nest but only saw one in the top of the tree (that looks dead) on the Highway near Sechelt Village. Sitting eagle

:hello: Driving through Davis Bay yesterday around 12:30 I spied 1 adult eagle sitting high in what I am considering is a perch tree in the stand of trees your end of the Bay Marg, looking out over the water. Sitting eagle
Then around 2:20 we found 1 Sitting eagle at the top of the old nest/perch tree, no one in the nest tree nor visible nearby.

Good morning.

Glad you got to see one of ours the day before yesterday Sandra Sitting eagleClappingand also the one down at Davis Bay walkway. Sitting eagle(I assume it was in a tree near the water.)

8:35a.m. It's frosty here today. I can see Ma and Pa Stalashen in the tree and there's another mature eagle in a tree a block from where we live. Have seen several flying around the area the last few days.

:hello: Yes Marg, the eagle at your end of the bay was in a tree near the perimeter of the stand of evergreens. We've seen one there a number of times. That white head is a true give away from a distance!

:hello: Yesterday proved to be such a glorious day that we had to spend some time outdoors. Davis Bay called so off we went. This was the first time since the recent wind storms that we got out of the car there, to discover some of the damage done! Sad We were only at the eastern end of the beach, where at least 2 benches were obviously taken out, lots of sand up over the walkway, big tree trunks delivered near the walkway and someone's stairs on the beach by the creek! We even feel that the nest tree lost some greenery. It seems barer now, the nest perhaps somewhat less significant looking.
