Thank You californiakayaker!
I'm looking into digiscoping, which is shooting my SLR camera through a spotting scope. I'm trying to get the attachment right now, so hopefully will be trying that out soon. I'll let you know how it goes...

Took a quick walk down near the nest yesterday afternoon. We were walking our pups so we were on the original trails, not the Hwy 44 Trail. We spotted Liberty on the Christmas Tree as we drove by on Hwy 44, and then spotted Patriot sitting on good 'ole "Lookout Limb" above the old nest(which there isn't much left of!). Maybe he was keeping an eye on his mate across the freeway on the Christmas Tree?
I took a picture but it is from a bit of a distance. but you can see how big the new nest is and how close it is to the old nest...

Found the lovebirds in their new nest, pecking(is that smooching in eagle language?), and bringing in more sticks....

Sitting eagleSitting eagleRed Heartlove Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
I am sooo thankful for all of my Hancock friends who love and revere eagles as much as I do!!! Thanks for your loyalty, your encouragement, and your unwavering support over the past 4 years!

Here is a video I took yesterday when P & L were busy working on the nest together, and spending time with each other. It always fascinates me to watch the bond between them, even when they are not together, they seem to always be in tune with each other. Watch how Liberty flies in with a stick, and then continues looking around to spot her mate. Such a beautiful thing to watch!

Wonderful pictures - and great video, eaglewoman. Their new nest is really looking fine - thanks for sharing it with us.

And I'm looking forward to the book - the cover is great!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Smile

These 2 pictures were on Saturday, Nov. 26 at about 3:30. Liberty and Patriot were sitting on a tree branch way off the trail, facing the river. This is the best I could get. I put a circle around them in the zoomed out pic so you can get perspective of the location. They stayed there a long time. Eaglewoman and I crossed paths, I was leaving, she was coming, like a shift change, and then they got active for her. I think they know her personally!

Great shots of the lovely couple Renae!
I was down there for a bit this morning and saw them both fly in to the nest area, but had trouble spotting where they landed? As I was riding off, I looked back and saw Patriot perched in his favorite "eating" spot. I took some pics and video of him before he flew off...
