Thanks Kay and Elle for the great pics of the Anderson and Golf Course couples. I love all the shots showing the scenery and of course the spectacular eagles!

Wooohoooo to the Firehall eagles being at the nest! Great job Ian did of spotting them and getting at least the one. Oh goodie now you say there’s an egg at least also! That’s awesome and I hope nothing happens to them this time.

Thanks Kay for all the pics of the Anderson and Fire Hall eagles they’re terrific and Elle thank Ian for me for those lovely pics and videos!

Good job you guys love

I would rather spend my life close to the birds than wishing I had wings

I visited all 3 Oak Bay nests today. There were no eagles in or around the Fire Hall Nest when I arrived just after 11 am. I wandered around the area, and then walked up to the side street where I chatted with a neighbour. He said he hadn't noticed the eagles around the nest the past 2 days but another neighbour I spoke to later said they have been around every day, although not constantly in the nest. I spotted one perched on top of the big fir tree on the side street beyond the ball field, where I have photographed them before. I was sitting on the park bench looking at my pix, when an eagle flew right by me heading towards Beach Dr. The other eagle was following and calling out. I managed to get 1 pic of the fly-by, which was too dark and blurry to post; the eagles were so quiet I didn't hear them comingRoll eyes 5 minutes later they both came flying in to the nest tree, calling to each other; Dad landed in the tree above the nest and Mom landed in the nest. I believe it was Mom at the top of the fir tree on the side street. After chatting with each other for a few minutes, Mom fussed around the nest for a bit and then settled down. Dad sat on the branch with his wings spread, preening and watching the firemen cleaning their truck and tidying up. I don't know if they have any eggs in the nest; from what the neighbours told me both the eagles have been gone from the nest for long periods of time. But I'm sure none of the neighbours sit for hours at a time watching the nestRoll eyes I took a few more pix from the side street and left just before noon when my chauffeur finally arrivedWhistling

One of the Golf Course eagles was lying down in the nest and the other one was nowhere in sight. The Anderson Hill eagles were nowhere to be seen, unless one was lying in the nest. I took pix from several vantage points but didn't see any movement at all in the nest. I didn't stop to see if one was perched on the marker at Trial Island; my chauffeur was bored and wanted to get homeWhistling

I'll post some pix later after I have sorted through them

I finally got some pix of Mom & Dad Fire Hall ready. There were no eagles in the nest or the nest tree when I arrived and I took several pix from different vantage points, including the side street. Click pix bigger.

Dad flew in right behind Mom and perched in the nest tree above. They both chatted back and forth for a few minutes before Mom settled into the nest. Here's 2 pix of Mom in the nest and Dad above her. Click pix bigger.

These pix are all Dad in the nest tree above the nest. I managed to capture the poop shoot in the 1st pic. Dad was holding his wings out from his body in the next 2 pix. Click pix bigger.
