Changing of the guard; was too cute a nudge was required

Great scap, Debs! Haven't been watching much, but a severe storm moved over the nest around 3:30 PM. One of the Chat members, OkieMo caught these scaps of the rainbow.

The male is at the top of the tree in the 2nd scap!

Here's a scap from after the storm. The male and female are sitting side by side to the left of the nest. The heart-shaped sun reflection on the right drew some ohs and ahs Wub (The big glob below the Eagles is actually a rain drop!)

Just before 5:00 p.m. CST,
While one adult was incubating, the wide angle showed 2 eagles flying from right to left in the not too distant skyline. It looked like one eagle was being chased (wish I had gotten a s'cap). Soon, the 2nd adult came to the nest and started trilling. Both adults went up to the branch above the nest for a minute or so, then flew off together. Soon after, an adult was back on the nest incubating.

Cal wave, I started recording right after 5PM, after they started getting agitated. They both took off from the tree at 5:04PM, and one circled back around and came to cover the eggs.

wave Hi PL,

Glad you were watching. Just guessing but think that maybe Juvies might be inclined to frequent the area this time of year. I have been watching a sky cam in Libby, MT, today and there was a Juvie in the same tree with 2 adults. Hmmm....

Need to keep an eye on this one. Very exciting!
