Wednesday - October 12, 2011
:hello: Judy, Bluebird1, Morgandy14
Very windy day and there must have been some rain. Earlier when I put the cam up there were rain spots on the CU. I've heard seagulls and the usual construction sounds but not much else.
Morgandy - Your guess is as good as mine as to Mom's behavior. I'm always taken with how long eagles can sit in one spot just looking around. There was another eagle in the vicinity but it didn't come to the nest or nest tree. H/s answered the few trills that Mom made. By my calculation, she stayed at the nest/nest tree about an hour.
Bluebird1 - There was nothing put underneath the entire nest. The tree climber could not get around to the right side (WA) of the nest. He put in those poles that you see to form a sorta rim around the nest. I did observe him push up on the left side and I thought he pushed a pole under there but not sure about that. He also screwed metal braces in a few places. Now, it's up to Mom and Dad to do nestorations.

HI Annie,
That's what I was afraid of - there really was a problem accessing the lower part of the nest. My only consolation is that Mom and Dad took their time about nestorations last year, I think, so trying not to worry too much yet.
Has been very windy there the past few days, and rained overnight so I hear.

Quote by: Bluebird1 Quote by: morgandy14I have to remind myself that it is the tree that the wide angle cam is on that tosses so much in the wind and not the nest tree itself.
Doh! I didn't realize that, Bluebird, I thought it was the nest tree also.
Thanks!

:hello: Good to see you irisheagle
8:24a - Golden sunshine on the nest this morning looks pretty. I saw a crow fly from the nest tree a few
minutes ago. Other than that and a few little songbird songs, nothing going on.

OMG! I am so glad I peeked in on White Rock chat. It has been awhile and pleasantly surprised to see that M/D are back checking on the nest. Great pics Annie and everyone. I'll have to start checking the nest daily for activity. I have missed the beautiful views. Hope all are doing well.
