Scott, Good news about Buddy and was he has is treatable, now just waiting for the other test. fingers crossed
That's a nice pic of Hope.

Gord, funny Steve Martin. I miss his early stuff.

Lori, so sorry to hear about Goldie. She sure was a beauty.

Scott, thanks for the start of a new day.

Jean,
Judy,
Laurie all such pretty cards and thoughts.

Linda, cute little chubby Bobwhites. Boy, does she lay a lot of eggs.

Laurie, your window must be clean enough to get such a good pic of the hawk.

Judy, like Jayden's skull and crossbones. He looks like a biker to be. love his eyes.

Annie, I had a hummer around for a bit. Problem I wasn't in much of a position to see him if he was around more.

Kat, thanks for the FOTD. Those roses look so pretty so full.

Linda, elle, I feel like you. I've let go of so many tears. Seeing my wild birds and them waiting for me to feed them gives my mind a little break.

Jeanie, mmm, never thought about staying logged in to the show. Good one.

Anna, I'm anxious to check you video of S2.

Lori, I'm going to check out your funny later too.

I'm here because I had a neighbor visit....now I'm off for a haircut. Figure I could accomplish something in a short time.

Later, Hello

I have a mix pixt. and I hope tomorrow I have more time for nature pict.`s.

A little time ago we talk about arrowhead. Ruud like that too and found some stones he like in France. (We don`t know for real and we think it is just a nice stone)

Last Sunday Brigitte and I take the train to a place and then we bike for about 15 km. We saw Volendam, it is a fisher place and a attraction for tourist. 20 Souvenir shops with the same stuff and restaurants a lot. It is only one little street, also with three shops where you can make a pict. in costume. It was nice weather for a ride. This week it is summer weather 22C until 26C. So today I also got some shots.
I make one pict.

Iona – your pup pics were so cute…such big ears!!!
Judy – cutie pie grandson!

Nanc – Still hot and humid down there?!? We’re actually enjoying a sunny cool fall day here! Roll eyes
Sue – keep on getting out there and enjoying the fresh fall air and critters in your yard. You are in my thoughts soooooo often…
Kath – big hugs to Eva – I hope she’s enjoying her visit – your Cannon Beach pictures were awesome!

Awwwwwwwwwwww Hope…there are just no adequate words… Cry
So sad about Goldie Sad…and the mate she left behind…and the O.W.L. staff who cared for her for so many years…

Laurie mentioning her dirty windows reminded me that I hadn’t posted some pictures that I took last weekend…Here’s the story:

It was Saturday night, and we had turned off the TV and were heading to bed. I went to the sliding door and turned off the backyard spotlights and then turned on the outside light just outside the slider to see if it had rained and the deck was wet. I saw some big smudges on the sliding door, and when I looked closer, I could make out the distinct outlines of a couple of small birds. Look closely and you can make out the head and the edges of the wings.

I tried with and without flash and held the camera as steadily as I could due to the lighting conditions.
Then, as I bent down lower, I saw a much bigger smudge! I layed down on the carpet, and took some more pics and called Lance to come back in and check it out! See his reflection!

Here’s the best pic of the largest birdprint – you can really see some detail on the wing feathers and tail. I measured the imprint wingtip to wingtip and it was 20+ inches…and the tips were curved upward so the wingspan is definitely larger than that. Lance swears he can see an eye print there! I’m guessing this was a Cooper’s chasing one of the smaller birds…but we’ll never know.

I remember that someone else posted a picture like this a few months ago, but not who it was.
Guess we need to take some action re the windows to keep this from happeningNodding…poor birdies!

I didn't miss anyone, did I?!? Wub XOXO, CK

ETA: Hey, Anna! Vollendam hasn't changed much since I was there in 1998!!!! Kiss
