Thank you for bringing the report, Bev. Very sad - and sadly one of the major risks to wide-winged birds.

RIP, Hunter - and fly free forever. love

BEV, thanks. As JudyB said this is sadly a major risk to wide-winged birds.

If there's any comfort, it's that Hunter was electrocuted when she hit the wire and didn't suffer. Many birds are found suffering with a broken wing from hitting wires.

So sadCry

I have set up a new thread for this nest so it will be ready when the Osprey return.. the link to the new thread for the 2012 nesting season is.

HERE

eta..
Sept. 25, 2011.

I heard from Herringman1 today..
I will post this with his permission..

Hi Bev..I walked onto the back deck of the tug about 7am this friday past and was supprised to see an Ospery scoop down and snag a big fish not 50 feet from me. I watched him as he flew in the general direction of the nest.I ran inside and checked the cam but it was not working. I have not seen any since. strange but true.....Maybe Oscar or Fisher . It happened so fast that i did not get a good look..They are all gone now and i will look forward to seeing them next year.I saved your new thread.Stay safe....Ralph

According to my calculations Herringman 1 saw this Osprey on Friday Sept.23, 2011.

Thank you Herringman1 for this information... See you next season.. Take Care ...

I watched an Ospery hunt again yesterday. We were out on a job and i got a better view.He caught a fish and flew off toward Eastern Passage.I expect there is a late nest in that area. This Oaspery seems to be the only one left.
