Welcome to the 2012 season of the Lake of the Ozarks!

This cam, showing "Elsie & Einstein," the Lake of the Ozarks Eagles, is located in Central Missouri, USA.

Elsie & Einstein came to the location in august 2009 and built their 1st nest 150' north of their current location
In 2010 they hatched 2 eaglets, of which only one survived into the early summer.
This year they moved their nest 80 feet from thumper59's back deck. Once again they hatched 2 eaglets. The first one named "Show-Me" (hatch date March 20th)and the second one "Morgan ( hatch date March 24th).
Spring was harsh on the Ozarks with severe storms, winds and rain. The last sighting of Show-me was at 7:32pm April 4th. He was a feisty eaglet that loved to sit at the edge of the nest from very early on. We don't know if he fell from the nest or was blown away. Thumper searched the grounds, but was unable to find any clues as to what happened to Show-Me.

It was a wonderful year watching Morgan grow into a beautiful Juvie! She took her first flight on June 12th around 5:40pm. Morgan stayed around the nest for quite a long time. She loved people and it wasn't unusual to see photos of her sitting on Thumpers mailbox or garbage cans. Life's best to you Morgan!!

Now our new journey begins! After some much needed rest, Elsie and Einstein have returned to the nest and have begun their nestorations!
In the coming weeks, Thumper will be moving the cam to the nest tree so we will have yet a better view of our eagle family.

Good Morning Ozarks! Good Morning all!
I guess you are right PatB... the leaves are changing color. I guess I was in denial as I don't like fall or winter! I'm a SUMMER Person!

It looks like the E's have started their renovations at the upper nest. Captured a few caps of them this morning as well as doing a video. I'll post that later as I need to edit it and upload it.


6:52am- Both Elsie and Einstein are at the nest starting renovations.

6:52am- There's lots of work to do!

6:52am- Moving some sticks around.

11:36am- Still at the nest and working!

This is very exciting to have them nestorating. I love it when they become more active at the nest. This is a beautiful place for them to nest. Looking forward to the video.
