I sure hope Sherri gets her power back soon.
How did you make out in the storm Judy? It went well inland but the coastal areas get windy on a good day.
I was so happy that Saco made it to VA AND she was smart enough to take the route away from the hurricane!
I'll check back in later. Got to go get food for the week! That's a luxury!!!
We sure do take a lot for granted.Smile

We came through the storm fine, Jude - thanks for asking! The power flickered a lot, and I was glad we have surge protectors with battery backup on the computers - but that was about it. Some of the folks I work with lost power, and a couple are still out, but things are generally getting back to normal around here.

How about you?

Based on the reflections on the water, it looks as if the giant crane is still there.

Hello Judy,
We have a generator handy and in good shape at all times. We even have a spare generator which we loaned to our neighbors when they couldn't start up their generator. We had removed all of the large trees that had potential of hitting the house, about 3 years ago. I think we were the only ones who didn't have much "yard" clean up to do. This time we were lucky in many respects. My garden is destroyed but who cares? We're all right.
....it is weird to see the corn rows laying flat on the ground.Titter Oh well...
All is well

Hey Judy, You were right....I see the crane working at the dam in the reflection on the water. It must be on the opposite shore, or nearer there anyway.Tongue

This little patch of grass cracks me up.
Tiny2 and Saco must have fertilized that area before leaving.

Hi everyone wave
Just a quick note to say thanks to all for the updates!
Wonderful news regarding Saco and her safety! Hopefully Tiny2 and Dad will be safe as well.
I think that it is a good thing that she is following the migration path at Hawk Mountain!

I still do not have power and have been told it could be a week or more. Quite a mess here but thankfully,
I didn't have damage.
Jude, glad you got your power back!....I miss our morning HOT cup of coffee (I'm drinking 'iced'Wink. Smile

Will check in again when I can.

Hello Sherri !!! waveSo good to see you are alive and well.
What an ordeal huh? Quite a large hurricane to have caused destruction of this magnitude in so many places. I always tell my husband that it is the storm you don't consider to be a problem that will get you. This "Irene" sure surprised Vermont and upstate NY with it's last minute westerly track.
You have had a number of storms down there where you are this summer haven't you?
In any case....So Glad You Are Okay!cheers

As this season winds down I know we will be weaning off visits to this forum. It is always sad.Cry Hanky I always "HOPE" everyone will be here next year. I miss Peggy and I miss Cal too.

However! I'm heading for next spring (in my mind anyway) because...#1~I can't deal with Winter, and #2~Is for the obvious reason; the return of the osprey. Sounds like a movie doesn't it? Maybe Gerard can direct and narrate it.
What do you think Gerard?

Well Sherri, thanks for stopping in to say hello. We'll be wishing your power to come back on and STAY ON for you. Take care now.
PS I'll put the coffee on for youMug of coffee
