Quote by: AnniesKatz Quote by: Watcher in the WoodsI am just heading out to see what is going on at the new nest I discovered and to go to the Wildlife Rescue Centre.
Just thought you might enjoy these pictures from my front yard yesterday
She comes to eat my flowers and the new growth on the horse-chestnut tree that I grew from seed and is now 8 feet tall
I have to keep this rose bush (it is called a Peace Rose) on my deck or the little one from above will eat it. She loves roses.
This is a picture of part of my front garden.
Hi Watcher ~ Oh that deer . They have the most beautiful eyes and soft faces. You are a dear (no pun intended) to allow her to eat your flowers. Most people I know with deer just can't stand them eating their flowers and vegetation. Every time I see one I can't believe people actually hunt and shoot them.
Your Peace rose is gorgeous.......mine went bye-bye years ago.
I just love the sculpture. Do you live on a green belt?
May I call you Sher?
Hi Annie
You can call me anything you want.
I love having the deer around. I figure we moved into their territory so if I don't want them to eat my flowers I keep them on the deck. I have put fences around the Japanese Maples we planted this year and the apple trees we planted a couple of years ago or they would demolish them. Some people fence their whole yard to keep out the deer, I would rather fence just the plants I don;t want them to eat.
I don't actually live on a greenbelt. We have a 1/2 acre property in an area where the smallest lot allowed is 1/2 acre.
Some are 1 acre properties.
This ruling was made many years ago at least partly because the area is bounded by the ocean on one side and park on the other three sides.
On the ocean side homes tend to be large and expensive (although not always so). The rest of the area has homes from 3 to 4 bedrooms at about 3500 square feet, to ex-trailers of 1 to 3 bedrooms, some of which have had additions built on. We live in one of those. We have 1300 square feet (a trailer with 2 small to medium additions).
It is an amazing area. We regularly have deer in the yard (as you can see) and in the early spring we have bear as well. I will add a photo of a mother bear and her two cubs who came to our friend's backyard just down the highway a bit to get a drink at her fish pond. I love living here!

Good Morning!
Jas, you are always uplifting. I love your pets. Thanks for my permission to rest today over at Aunties.......
you are so sweet.
Watcher, that was fascinating.....thanks for entry into your lives.
Annie, yes, Bleu got a dip as did I. We are currently attempting to trickle water into some trees we want to save. The leaves are falling like Fall.
I will do your latest fun quiz later.......smiles,
carolyn

Your fault Annie......
Potted pigeon, oh I am going batty,
pigeons in a pot, upside down at that, just splat,
wondering what to do, to make it not seem so bleu,
but pigeon in a pot, so like a kumquat!
Potted pigeon come on out, or else you might just sprout,
and then we would have a sprouted potted pigeon in a pot,
complacently hanging on for days to find the magic way,
out of the potted pot into the sunlight and the plot.
So, a tribute it is indeed today, for potted pigeons we shout hooray!
And that is all I am going to say today, pray forgive me, OK?
