OK so that deserves a "silly" poem......
A speck on the beach, is our friend who is out of reach,
we see her flag, we know she is there, but where?
Without the arrow, we would be lost, forlorn and sad,
but with Gemini's guidance we find Savethetrees gliding by,
with eaglets soaring about and so much obvious love,
that we smile with joy to know our friend is watching them soar.
Love the picture jas! It is beautiful.

Here's an enlargement from a screen shot - At one point i thought I could tell it was the Canadian flag she was waving.

EAGLELOVER FRIENDS,
This is the first chance I've had to get in today....busy with work and the dratted housecleaning. Still busy but I'll catch up with you in a little bit.
On the Today Show this morning, they had a segment about Great White Sharks. Discovery Channel is beginning a series this Sunday (Shark Week) on these magnificent creatures. I found the video just stunning and amazing. The crew filmed in South Africa and I have to tell you, NO WAY would you get me that close to these animals.
It is the 9th video down the list. I don't like the way they are listing their videos now. I use to be able to link to the
video I wanted, but now they link the whole page. I think you'll be as amazed as I was.

Quote by: AnniesKatzWatcher ~ Very interesting experiment you did. Ever had any interest in taxidermy?
When I was in high school I, along with a mentor, trapped and "stuffed" two Kangaroo Rats for the Science Fair (got a Blue ribbon).
Later, I was very sad at having killed them. They have the most beautiful fur.
Your Grosbeak photo is wonderful. Spencer looks like he's having fun.
Too bad about the backyard feeders. I feed the doves and backyard birds....love hearing them sing.
Here is a pair of Eurasian Collared doves that have been coming for a few years. They didn't have
any food but sure knew who it came from. They were looking in the window watching me at the puter.
CLICK TWICE....(beautiful feathers)
Hi Annie
I have a couple of these birds who come to my feeder also (I wasn't sure what they were - but that is just what they look like). They make a cooing sound that at first sounds like an owl,
Actually they don't come to the feeder they scratch among the seeds that get spilled around the base of the feeder.
My feeder is on my deck which is one story up in the back.
The feeder extends out over the woodshed roof so the ground feeders peck and scratch there (it is much safer than the ground because of our neighbour's cat).
I also have a Douglas Squirrel who joins in. He gets up at the feeder as well. Since he is so small (about the size of a chipmunk but a solid brown (no stripes) I don't mind him at the feeder.
He is very cheeky and very nervous.
